Seats look nice as well. Unfortunately there are plenty of other better looking cars out there that I would consider before the NSX if this is what they turf out:angry:

Can't believe they're going to build that! Especially when the had a much better option. Strange what manufacturers do. I wonder what they'll do to the S2K?
Cheers,
James.

Lets not speculate as these aren't official pictures are they? Wait until the official pics are release & then judge. Although can't help thinking it won't be revolutionary or as good looking as our current car? Other thing is price, 100K! who are they kidding, who is going to buy it? Elton John?

Damn, that means everyone will be out buying one now. Like the NSX the DB9 is something most poeple assume is far more expensive than it is.
Mind you over here in Switzerland, a DB9 and V8 Vantage are twice the price they are in the UK.

I think that particular NSX has subsequently moved to dubai, had an 02 facelift and been sold on.
As for the renderings of what the next Honda super sports will look like, these are again just an artists view. I would be surprised if there isnt a 2+2 option as that severly restricts its potential market. ..... as does the £100k price tag when the the GTR is half that

Paul that is aweful !!! The previous concept that the US didnt like was the best as it kept the car mid engined.

Looking at what Honda is proposing, I wish that I had kept my 190 SL !! It didn't go very fast, but it did have "presence". J. C.

Yeah, it might now be possible to pick up a used V8 Vantage for £40k, or a DB9 for £50k... but the running costs will ruin you, especially if anything goes wrong.
The Autocar article gave one example - the DB9 has a 7,000 mile service interval, and it needs brake fluid changing every service, as well as both (£72 each) airfilters replacing. Add in a sprinkling of labour and at an AM dealer, you're probably looking at the best part of a grand.
I love the look of all modern Astons but there are plenty of them around: Would I feel special every time I got in and fired it up? Hmmm, possibly (lovely noise). Would I buy one and want to keep it for high days and holy days? No.
It's vain, but I like observing people's reaction to the car - I love seeing the double take in the rear view mirror when someone thinks "what was that?" or "oooh, an NSX, you don't see them much" as I drive past. Astons, like 911s, are just too common for that and as Clarkson says, you're more likely to see oncoming drivers "drying their hands" (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/driving/jeremy_clarkson/article684504.ece) than giving you the thumbs up.
That said, if the big lottery win ever arrives, I'd probably be straight down to a nearby AM dealer to see what they've got. Last time I was at Reading Honda, they were temporarily encamped between a Lambo and AM dealership: while hanging about outside, suddenly the air was riven by a blood-curdling crack, followed by a gurgling bellow of tick-over, transforming into a crescendo of bad, angry, beautiful noise... someone was moving a DBS from the parking space just over the fence...

I found myself reading a back number of "EVO"---April 2007,I think, in the ever-recurring hospital waiting room on Tuesday. They were comparing the running costs of "exotics" as used by an outfit called "P 1", presumbably in London, on their hire fleet. The figures for Aston Martins---and most others, would cause us all to have heart attacks.
Surprisingly, they did not have a single NSX on their books. Not flashy enough ? !!! Perhaps. J.C.

$200k super car... are they madder than Honda or what!? I dont car how fast it is or how they try to hype the brand up; noone in their right mind is going to pay £150k for a Toyota!
Nissan have the right idea and price (in Japan!)... just a shame it's so Fugly! It's got 4 seats and is a beast - it doesn;t have supercar looks but I'd be tempted by one as I could fit kid(s) in the back.

Not sure anyone has any idea right now what to do. One thing is clear, big expensive cars, in whatever shape or purpose, are not selling unless heavily discounted. Even the Bugatti is down ... albeit to only £750k
I'm thinking that classics are the way to go and just by coincidence, thats where the NSX is going too :)

Read somewhere that all cars, especially super or Hyper cars are all taking a hammering, apparently a Bug Veyron yours for 600 or 650K (not sure if new)?, brand new 911 Ts for 15k off, new M3s 10K off & the gorgeous nearly new AM DBS 30-40K off! Does'nt matter to Bond as its a company car! :D

I read that Bugatti have a longer waiting list now than they've ever had! I don;t think the uber rich will be affected by the recession.
Second hand fezzas may take a hit but I doubt the new new ones will!

Luke,
I know you have the inside knowledge on this one, however FWIW I know there are discounts given for new Ferrari's. As an example the new 430 Scud can be had with a 25k dealer discount. Further more a "top end" dealer has gone under.
We haven't even seen the start of this recession.

I'm not sure I have inside knowledge! Just something I thought I'd heard ... not sure where!
I guess the question is whether the ferrari discounts are greater now than they were a year ago!
Everyone is going to be affected and I agree that we haven;t seen the start of things yet. Maybe Bugatti less affected than the likes of Ferrari - if second hand prices are getting slaughtered then people are leess likely to want to stomoch the depreciation of a new one... so the large discounts make sense.
Cheers,
Luke

+1
For collectable cars which won't get driven anyway the demand may remain high.
As Honda decided to cut the costs by leaving F1, lowering the production and employment I guess that the 'next NSX' will never be released.
TheSebringOne
07-12-2008, 04:19 PM
Also the Bug will be limited to a total production run of about 300 or less? So rarity will keep values high, maybe not in the Mac F1 league as less than ton split bewteen road & race. Still can't get my head round VW losing around 3-4 million on each car made!

That R8 pic makes it look like an NSX MPV! Why does it still only hold 2?
Those Autoexcess renderings (especially the hilariously bad cutway; did a child make it?) demonstrate why I no longer trust nor purchase magazines.
Personally, I'd probably have the Acura over the Aston, despite the cringingly bad badge. I love Honda reliability and engineering integrity. Maybe I could glue a Honda badge on instead.
I suddenly find 2+2 seating very useful, which is why the 'Lude gets used more than my S2000. Sadly, I find the GT5000 more practical than the NSX that I still don't actually own...
If you google images, the 'mule' besed on a stretched S2000 still looks the nicest version of the GT5000 to me!
