Now then folks, ust putting teh feelers out there (although I think I know what the majority will say) BUT, the very last thing to be done on my car, which is still VERY far away will be a re-spray.
The question is, what paint do I go for??

I really like Midnight Purple and on a coupe it would be especially rare as all Midnight Purple cars are Targas.

So your vote will be for different , but keeping with OEM NSX colour?

Jim,
My number one color choice for your car would be Silverstone, keeping the roof black and painting the mirrors black too. With the 02 sills and valance it would look subtley updated.
Did I read you had bought some new wheels? What have gone for and is there an option to color code part of the wheels to the bodywork?
You goota ditch the Sebring, its far too slow ;)

ARGH why is no one voting!!!! Hi Paul, yeah I know what you mean about silverstone, it is a nice colour if a little greyer than sebring. The wheels that I got are still OEM (replaced the cracked one I had) and the pic in the other thread with teh Skyline wheel, I was just experimenting with the fit ( PCD and ET/offset).

Something that is not a Honda colour will always stand out to someone who knows their NSXs. A JDM colour could may people think you have an import.
A colour from another maker, say a Lambo colour, will make people think that you really want to own a lambo, or trying to make your car look like one.
If it is going to be a long time away, maybe look at what colours are in fashion then?

Apologies for not voting; as it clearly pi5535 you off I urge others to reply and not vote.
If you're looking for the best colour for resale value I think you have to go with CW. If you can keep it clean and keep a black roof it will look fantastic and be soo rare. CW will look awesome and IMO can only be rivaled by red.
When mine was resprayed it was done Rosso Corsa, a slightly brighter red than the formula red. For me, Red/Black NSXs look awesome and that's why they sold so many... I think the red ones are easier to sell as well.
I only think I'd go for a garish green, orange or other colour if I had a body kit on it. An OEM NSX can only pull off slightly dulled down bright colours such as lime greens and IOPs. Jury's still out for me on the lime green!

Picking up on Kevins thoughts ... if you were to do the complete O2 conversion with fixed lights then have you considered the satin black finish. There a re a couple on Prime that look so mean!! You would need better rims than 15/16 OEM to pull it off as a package
regards, Paul
mate id go for lime green looks so dam good
sorry kev but i dont want to be a lambo lol
but depends what you want show off or stay plain jane
blend in or be different mmmmmm
if you go for some wild colour yes prob need to do a kit or some thing
or if you selling it later on then stay simple
thx amo

Luke, what can I say..................hurumph!!! Anyhoo what do you mean by CW??
Lime green, yeah I do kinda like it.
Satin Black, one of my mates suggested that, and yeah I would go for bigger wheels later on too.
Full 02 conversion, won't happen I think the car looks much better with pop ups.
I will probably wait and see when the time comes.

What about a Matt gey/black? A few companies do wraps and that may work out cheaper....There is a guy on the Alfa 147 GTA forum about to get this done at about £1000....I'm eagerly anticipating how it looks.
I've always liked the metallic greys which are kind of timeless as in Pauls S2 NSX......

Keep it silver but lose the black roof. Changing the main body colour will mean that the engine bay, under bonnet etc won't match and that just looks wrong.
Is anyone here actually brave enough to go Lime Green, a lot of you say you like it but no-ones done it yet :)

Yeah I would definately try it if I thought I needed a change or the bodywork needed a boost. Just do the engine bay black and no problems that way.

Do yo know what, really like that sort of turqiose colour!!!
The only other (minor) prob is gettting the interior to match, as I have gone for black leather and dark red alcantara, I think that the lime green would need another interior change to match.
What do you think?

Silverstone is a greyer colour or very dark silver. I think you should either keep it Sebring or go for a totally different OEM colour. As for sebring being a slower colour, look at it like this, if a red car flashes by, your eye would focus on it longer than if it was Sebring! So in fact silver is always quicker than red in a flash! :D
PS. waiting for you Paul(S) or Luke!

Funnily enough, I DO have the nav pod, just trying to find a system that fits into it.
As for the interior colour, it's not one I would pic BUT on the other hand it suits the car colour.

You're right about the interior - clashing colours would look awful.
Some of teh more exotic colours (green, tuquoise and orange) would be hard to match as an interior colour... then again the type S oange seats aren;t an exact match but look great.
You've got to live with whatever colour you respray the car; if you can put up with something agrish and think it would look right then go for it. Personally if I was forking out c £4k for a respray I'd want something really special... not just a dark blue or something.
Have you thought about getting your engine bay done as well?

The other alternative. Don't paint it, polish it. As it is Ali it can be polished to a mirror finish.
If I were to paint a non black car, then it would be a classy subdued metallic. The NSX in standard form is the 'understated' sports car.
Mine however, being black would probably get re-painted white. Only becuase it's easy then to make it look NSX-Rish by leaving certain parts black.

i vote for no change. i know that is not punk or hip...
but as a "member of my famliy" i love my oem NSX like it is and with a NSX you dont have to have a "different" color to have your car look different like the crouwd ;)
thats why we have one :)

Kevin,
When you say no paint, do you mean polished ali as in the De Lorean look!!

I think that is indeed what Kevin meant but (pedant hat on :) ) of course the DeLorean bodywork is Stainless Steel which would be a lot harder to polish than aluminium. Despite it being the DeLorean's USP I think they look better painted.
Fifty's race cars like the Lotus 11 were sometimes finished in polished alloy. Here's some pics...

The only problem with the polished aluminium look is that the bumpers/headlight are plastic!
