Hi guys, i've just bought a '93 NSX and would like to know if these wheels would suit. They are a set of 2 piece Veilside Andrews wheels, the sizes are as follows, the fronts are 19 x 75, +41 , 114.3, the rears are 19 x 90, +35 , 114.3
Any advice will be greatfully received :)
Dave.

Dave 19" on a stock NSX will look Huge, als depending on the tyre choice they might rub and give you problems with TCS.

Such a large wheel will likely slow you down and degrade the handling.

Just my 2p

Any pictures of the rims so we can pass comment on the aesthetics.

A cautionary thought on rim size and the NSX.

If you want to continue to enjoy the handling and chassis that attracts so many to the NSX, be wary of going too big. In the states they oftern run 18/18, 19/19, or staggers including a 19/20. But these a cruising cars that run on smooth tarmac at 56mph in glorious sunshine. I'm guessing you will be driving yours in interesting A + B roads, sometimes more than 56mph and in all weathers.

Maybe an option is 2 sets of wheels. A cruisin' set and then the OEM (do you have 5 or later 7 spoke wheels) set for track and cross country fun.

Just my thoughts of course, together with taking your time to get used to the mid engine over the f/mid engine of the RX7's.

HTH

Thanks for the comments, i had exactly the same set on my RX7 and they looked great on that, i'll give them a quick try but if they spoil the handling / slow it down noticeably then i'll get them off. I'll upload a pic so you can all let me know what you think, i don't mind if you don't like them so be honest.
Dave.

Dave they do look nice, but IMHO they will kill the acceleration of a stock 3.0, and they are also heavier.

You are lucky as you can just wack them on as you said, and then make up your mind.

BTW they will probably need centering rings.

Cheers,

Ary

I agree with Ary, they do like nice & a centre is needed. What size tyres are going to try on them? IMHO, I think your nice wheels may compromise the car's handling.

The fronts are 235/40/19 and the rears are 265/35/19, all tyres are Yokohama Parada (i think!) If they'll spoil the drive / ride then i'll put them on a GTR Skyline i've just had in instead. I'm always giving my customers a row for destroying all the millions spent on developements on the cars i sell them and now i'm trying to do the same :)
Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow guys!
Dave.

Dave,

I kinda know where you are coming from. I have the OEM 15" fronts and 16" rears, and they look far too small for the car.
I have seen many different sizes and combos, and I have to say that 17" all round looks the best with a standard car. Maybe bigger with a body kit.

Forget those wheels on an NSX. Someone else a long time ago had 18/19 wheels, and it looked like it was on stilts.

I have 235/40/18 on the front for the track and they rub like anything.

STAY AWAY from those hub rings, or at least make sure of what you are getting. Another typical ebay ad from someone who doesn't know about NSXs, and lists the parts along with other Honda models.

NSXs have different hub sizes for the front and rear. You need a 70mm ID for the front, and a 64mm ID for the rear.

In any case the ad says the OD is 67mm. What good is that? The most common bore size for an aftermarket wheel is 73mm.

Hi Amo, thanks mate, i'll take you up on that! I realise they probably won't fit properly but i'm still up for trying........i'll probably regret the time & effort but hey that's life! If they did actually fit ok where would you recommend to buy the rings from Kev?
Dave.

Dave SOS sells some nice Aluminium ones whichh IMHO are better than the plastic ones. Also if you have new tyres there is no rush to get new ones.

Well, after trying them for looks on Monday with Amo & Ary (nice to see you :) ) i tried the fronts on today...........they look great but i don't think i can take any sharp turns with them fitted :(. Never mind, i spoke to James (Papalazarou) this evening and i'm buying his wheels instead as i really don't like my standard wheels. I never usually spend out on toys for my car, this NSX seems to have a strange power over my wallet, luckily i can get most of it through my business
Dave.
