Hey guys,

My search for a new exhaust is finally over. I have been looking for one for ages now! But I am happy to say the search is over. Its a Kakimoto system but I have never seen this particular exhaust for the NSX. I have searched the kakimoto site but there is no mention of this exhaust on there, the only pics I could find were the ones below which I stole from PRIME. I have no idea what this thing sounds like but I had Kakimotos on both my integra and skyline before. From past experience I can say that the kakimoto systems are very impressive, beautifully constructed with a lovely sound so I am hoping for good things.
As you will see from the below pictures, it is a rather marmite exhaust. I of course like it, and I guess thats really all that matters.
If anyone has any knowledge on this exhaust I would be happy to hear about it. I should receive it sometime next week so I'll fit it and let you know what its like.

Cheers

Jonny

Saw one of these the other day, very well made and huge bore, will be very loud.

Did you get it from a place in Crawley by any chance? :)

Yeah I did! 10 points to you. Is that where you saw it?
I'm really looking forward to fitting it, my car has been silent for too long and I absolutely hate the standard oval exhausts I have at the moment

Yeah, I went there last week to look at the HKS one and they said they had just got the Kakimoto in so I thought it would be rude not to take a look.
I think you'll be happy with the quality and the condition. You do know that you can't run cats with it, don't you?

Yeah I know about the cats, guy explained that when I bought it. They're pretty good guys, loads of stuff. I've bought a few things from them in the past. Never been disappointed.

You do know that it will delete the cats.

That's cool then, because he did not know before I pointed it out, would be a bummer if you had found out the hard way....

Too slow AR, but I'll give you 8/10 for the pretty pic. :)

You what they say, a picture is worth 1000 words! :)

It looks interesting at first, but it might resonate too much.

It could have been this other Kakimoto

Will you be able to install it without removing the rear valance? Not sure I would like to see so much iron work on display.

Are you planning any other intake mods to help balance the exhuast gasses?

regards, Paul

Well I have somehow inherited a BIG A55 air filter from one of my mates. Came off a 500bhp GTS. It should be fun trying to fit it in the tiny space. But if the huge GruppeM fits then I'm sure I'll be able to sort something out. You'll find out if I'm successful come friday. Looking to get a new engine hatch too.

IMO those open filter are not very good for the NSX,m some members have even lost power.

Hmmm, well I'll give it a shot. If its doing more bad than good I'll just take it out. It cost me nothing so no harm trying.

Jonny, if you are after a new engine hatch, you are welcome to join in on the Group buy at the moment:

Not keen on those zorst, but each to their own. I like those wheels, but as Paul stated they look too Fezza style. I previously discussed this before and they are similar to Advan T5s from SOS, great looking but Fezza like.

OI OI new boy, get to the back of the queue, if there were any for sale ther is a pecking order!!!! HEHEHE ;)

Na, only kidding. If I had a bit more spare cash I would be almost tempted HOWEVER, at about £1500 for the wheels added shipping costs, then maybe arround £200 import tax, THEN tyres.......oooooooo pricey.

Do look good thought.

Anyhoo.......back to Exhausts !!!!

Fair point :) I would love a set of them on my car along with a nice carbon boot spoiler! Does anyone in the UK sell them or something of a similar design?
Dave.

Whichever one you get avoid cheap wheels like Rotas and Invite, etc as they will be a downgrade in performance.

Whether its temporary or not I for one really like the effect of the visible exhaust. Some owners like their brake calipers sticking out bright red - I like that idea too - but I do think this exhaust mod is a very good one - nice pictures also. My Acura came from its original owner without any documentation on the exhaust system, including headers which were already fitted when I bought it, and I would like to identify the system one of these days. Not everyone's taste, thankfully we are all different, but well done on a nice job.

Not the best angle but showing just the right amount of exhaust for me.

The drive at the house slops off like a ramp so I will try and take a picture of the exhaust next week when Im back there. Meanwhile the picture you posted Ary is another fine example of individual taste and one I really like too. I was never keen on modded road car wings but they are growing on me now, certainly when they are part of a bigger overall job like yours.

Love the rear bumper. Makes the car look clean and aggressive.
