With all this talk of people looking at cars it got me going as well.

The above car is now half of it's value and it's only 2 years old!

So what cars have you seen that make you think "I'm so temted"

It'll be £22-23k in a year if you're lucky.....Not the sort of car that will ever keep much value....Grossly overpriced to begin with. Nice as an indulgence but also like throwing away money. Exec saloons always dive in value...

Gary I agree, so that's why I'm only tempted.

That would have had a retail price of nearly £70K and now not even 2 years old its worth half price!

That is some money to lose in 2 years.

And not surprisingly that one is sold already!

I've been trying to find a mate a late 535d tourer with all toys. I can get £7k off new but still over his budget. These are rarer than hens teeth and have actually gone UP in asking price over past 2 months!

If you're looking at what has shed loads of ££, look at 645 / 650 / and SL55 pricing.

Paul,
I can find >5k off list plus free leather and media pack - that's over 8k off list (before discount on toys). Any good?

Yeah - I bought a 20-month old A8 a couple of years ago, at just over half what it was new ... and it's probably halved again in the last 2 years... Then again, it's a lovely car - very comfortable and quiet, really easy to drive, yet remarkably spritely.

Look at this - http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/AUDI+A8/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-41-51-144-240-4294966565-4294966997/advert.action?R=200904327618085

Goes like stink for such a big car (321bhp, 479 lb/ft, 0-60 in <6secs) yet will still return 30+ mpg. I bet you could get it for less than £20k. Who cares if it loses £10k in the next 2 years? Keep it for 5, sell it for £5k, and you've lost £3k pa... no worse than a nearly new Passat would shed.

This is where my money would be going at the moment.

Sub £15k for a 2 1/2 year old £40k plus car.

I'm with you Simon, Its worth a punt at that price as most of the hit has taken place. All big exec cars in this sector depreciate the most, so theres not much in it at the end of the day give or take so many thousands. The legend is rare, reliable and different, unlike the German cars as good as they are.
