Agreed value, 5k miles, track cover and Euro cover, relay all for <£400. Call Chaucer insurance then go drive that poor thing before it rots away!

 Jim, I'm saving up for a glass car case that rotates for the living room! :D

I assume that since shes reached a youthful 10 yrs old, I can start getting more reasonable classic car policy since the car is no longer in production? I remember someone mentioned a policy via the RAC for 10 yr old car? Cheers

Paul, was that with declared mods? Did you call them direct as I can only seem to get quotes through a broker and nowhere near that price.....

All mods declared and welcomed! When I first insured the car one of the criteria was a minimum value of upgrades (£3k IIRC).

I haven't go the number to hand but will updatee the post later.

Simon,

I got a good deal from "Competition Car Insurance" which is underwritten by Aviva.......£478 for an agreed value of £30k with all the mods declared, 5 k miles and no requirement to be garaged (drive is fine) or have a tracker fitted. THere is also four track days per year allowed but the excess bumps up to 10% of value. I thought it was a reasonable deal.

I tried Chaucer and had the same results as you so maybe Paul has the inside deal!!

Gary

Just pulled the policy and had forgotten they had a change of name/underwriter last year. Mine is also with Competition Car Insurance, using their Sports Car policy.

Speak to Tracey on 0115 941 5255. Very helpful and knows the NSX quite well.

I've been with them since owning the NSX when they were Chaucer so maybe this is why I'm paying less than Gary?

Simon, I simply sent them the website details and my user name. I also mentioned the annual membership fee (contribution) which I think they asked about at the time.

How many years NCB did you have for this? The only reason why I asked we rung them a couple of weeks ago for a quote on a NSX with 9 yrs NCB and got quoted over £800, on a 5000 limited mileage policy.:(

In the end we went with Hertiage Motor Insurance for £590.00

I have a similar NCB to you but I think the max they recognise is 5yrs. 3000 mile fixed. Value 20k without mods.
Interestingly I'm moving, hopefully in a couple of months to a 'better' area but was told the premium should go up £50, they said they would not charge me that though. . . Till next renewal.

I am with Haggerty car insurance insured for 1500 miles ( but not much more to increase to a max of 5,000 miles)

Its a classic car policy parked on a driveway for around £250.

Cheers,

Andy
