I have lost the illumination on my heating controls- the heating and air-con appear to work- I just cant tell what they are doing! Any advice appreciated.

Are you sure they still work?

It could just be the display but more likely to be a well known and very common fault (all NSX's will experience it sooner or later) with capacitors on the Climate Control unit breaking down (leaking), the good news is that it's relatively easy fix if you handy with a soldering iron. If you're not, one of the members here (Kaz) provides an excellent service to fix it for you :)

Thanks for the info- this definitely sounds like my problem. Now, how do I access the on-line manual to see how to take out the ECU?

Cooling System is one of the sub menus:

Refer to section 22 page 85 of the manual linked to above.

For an even better description with pictures refer to Kaz's write up... http://www.nsxcb.co.uk/testvb/showthread.php?t=5940

The picture at the bottom of the first post in this thread provides vital information regarding smooth/easy extraction of the centre dash vent that has to come out before the centre console trim can be removed so that finally the CCU to be taken out.

Pay close attention to this step to avoid scratching your center console or worse breaking the centre dash vent surround.

Funnily enough, my centre dash vent surround has been broken and glued together at some point, (not me Guv'n, promise!). I have never thought about replacing it as I assumed Honda would want to sell me the complete vent for about the price of a working kidney, but is it available as a spare on its own?
