The Bug needs tyre changes every 2500m miles at £6k each & you have to change the wheels themselves every 3rd tyre change or 7500 miles at £30k! You can't shop around as only Bugatti can do it! :eek:

It gets worse, the first & cheapest service cost nearly £14K & it then rises. Of that £14k, the labour alone is over £6k! Think we best stick to the cheaper to service & maintain NSX!
The F1 is still my true hyper car, not the lardy overpriced, over powered & over engineered VW!

That's cheap Paul! I priced the NSX-R seats with Honda UK and they are £13,522 each! and thats before vat and no rails!

I am totally shocked at the cost of running a hyper-car but it does make you think what is the fastest supercar to run at minimal cost taking into consideration buying the car, residual value, fuel economy and servicing?
A used NSX must be on the list but new cars are not so easy to think of. A Radical, GTR or a new 997 that only needs serviced every two years???

The NSX is a rarity in supercar terms for its relatively low servicing cost.
In terms of hypercars then the Enzo is relatively reasonable for that type of car. Apart from the Mac F1, the Enzo is the only car that will increase in value, with the Alfa 8C bucking the trend for new supercar. Theres a good article in the current Evo mag about the true cost of buying, owning and servicing hypercars.

That is what I thinking, is an Enzo worth the extra money to buy and run than say a 430 Scuderia. Enzo could be 3-4 times as much to buy and maybe twice as much to run but it is only a few tenths quicker around the Ferrari test track.

But as being discussed on another thread it all about the bragging rights. "My one is bigger than your one" :P
But IMO the members on NSX Club Britain aren't that vain and hence why we have the car we do:D

Paul, bragging rights certainly it is. One is named after the founder & there were only 400 made (399, plus 1 extra for the old Pope which was auctioned off). The Scud is named after the team and theres now the 16M version! Oh the Enzo now worth around £600K!
NSX owners are not that vain! Thats why we didn't get sucked into the "badge" means everything!
The Enzo is worth a lot more than £600k now - more like £1m+. What's interesting is the fact that the hypercars tend to get eclipsed over time; look at the F40 - the F430 Scud is faster now than an F40 was then, although the F40 is now worth ~£250k and rising whereas a Scud will certainly drop in value, albeit more slowly than the F430 would (especially when they launch the 458). Looking at 360CS now, they're still in the £85k-100k region, yet you could pick up a 360 Modena for not much more than half that.
When depreciation comes into it, the NSX is well catered for since it's slower than it might otherwise be, and it's by now largely had the big stuff. So you could buy a newish NSX for mid £30k, run it for 3 years and it'd probably still be worth mid £20ks if not more. Try losing £7-10k in 3 years on any other supercar. As for hypercars, the Enzo might make money over time, but either the cost of financing £1m, or the opportunity cost of not having your £1m in cash invested somewhere, would take a good bite out of the gain...
All this said, I was a happy NSX owner until last Sunday. Now I want a Murcielago really, really badly :D

And having seen its performance against the Veyron over the 1/4 mile was awesome. May have less power but the lower weight counted for a lot. And still looks fresh ALA the NSX after all these years.

I swear this is true! A guy in my street asked if my silver NSX was a McLaren F1 :laugh:
If I was offered a drive in any car for the last time it would be the F1. We have seen the F1 on Top Gear and various other JC DVD's thrashing modern supercars and even a Veyron but I would love to know how fast it would be around a track?

Having followed one of these cars into Goodwood for a few miles, I can confirm that the NSX (with me behind the wheel at least) is no match for a Veyron on wet Sussex lanes.
The driver accelerated very hard out of the Rolls Royce factory 'U' turn roundabout to get back to the circuit and the car gathered speed is just bewildering!

That race on TG where the hamster in the Bug raced the Stig in the Mac F1 was one of those defining car moments, why has it taken that long! The F1 was awesome at the start as it has a better PWR before the extra 374 bhp came into its own. I agree too that it would be my dream drive or ride in the F1!
As for the Bug, even JB selling his!

It is Martin, if you look at the bonnet I think it's a continuation of a reflection.

Yeah, it's just because it was SO FILTHY that you couldn't see the reflection clearly ...
[just :D - Martin missed most of the convoy but showed up at the hill climb and breezed into the Wilton House parade, even though he'd not washed the car in preparation, or even had any sleep the night before...]
