So my passanger side "door opening" handle mechanism snapped, a bit of a common problem from what I read and there are only a few solutions.
Buy a new handle from Honda price: £346 + vat EACH
Buy one from a breaker if you can find one??
Buy the "fixit thingie" from SOS or Dali for around $100 dollors for a pair
Try and glue it back together.
Reason the Honda price is so expensive is because the handle comes as a complete unit and they dont sell parts seperately.
This is the complete unit on the parts system

With the complete handle removed
This is what usually snaps, its the lower mechanism that is attached to the spring to return the hanle to its closed position.

So I first tried the glue method with a cement/compound based glue

It did hold for a while but just wasnt good enough
So I decided to remove the mechaism
Where the break is there are 2 screws hidden by black sticker caps

Remove the stickers and then screw out the wee screws
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j77/icongroup/NSXPARTS/DSC07315.jpg
With the 2 small screws removed one part of the damaged mechanism will come away nicely.

Next is to remove the little brass colored pin, the pin has a recess in it and a small open face securing washer

gently push out the securing washer and lift the the pin out
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j77/icongroup/NSXPARTS/DSC07320.jpg
With the pin out the other half of the mechanism will come free

This is basically the item removed and the broken mechanism.

So with the whole lot out, I think the best method is, to go with the "fixit thingie" Which is
"High-strength billet aluminum door repair kit replaces the factory pot metal levers that are prone to breaking and can not be individually replaced from the factory. High quality 3-axis CNC design.
Available now in hard mil-spec black anodized finish with engraved "L" or "R".
I'm going to order the pair as its a worth while upgrade.

Would anyone be interested in a "Group Buy" for this part??
Well worth purchasing and keeping handy for the day your own breaks!

already replaced mine, definately a worthwhile preventative thing to do.
also make sure the door release cables are adjusted properly, as it's the handle reaching the end of it's travel before the door latch releases that causes the handle to break...

...and a bit of grease on the latch mechanism helps a smooth operation and less stress on this part...

What's the price of these, would it not be worthwhile someone 'copying' the Honda part the same as SOS have ?

I have done this to my car as well. They fit fine, bit needed a bit of filing as they were slightly thicker than the orginal part and didn't quite slide in place nicely.
It would not be worth making these yourself, unless you were going to have at least 50 done. The setup and programming costs to get the CNC done would not be worth it.

Guys your better buying these from Dali. I got a really expensive quote from SOS on delivery $40 to $50 dollors! I couldnt wait as I have 2 shows to go to, and needed them asap. So got mine order and already arrived today. They are a nice fit, all that is needed to do is to file down two rises at the rear of mechanism, I just a used a dremel and job done in 2 mins.
