Cheap NSX

There's a horribly cheap 2001 NSX on Autotrader at the moment. FSH, 46,000 miles, one owner - for less than £29,000.

Yeah, that looks tidy - I wonder if there's a catch :rolleyes: It says "very low mileage" but I'd say 46,000 miles (in comparison with other 7 year old cars) isn't all that low. It'll be due a cambelt next year, too.

Car does look on the cheap side, but seen this advertised privately on PH at least a month ago, think it was advertised for more money? Must have been a px or selling for a friend as all the pictures are the same?

Has anyone viewed it? Do we know there's something seriously wrong with the paint? Paint "correction" (essentially polishing) won't cost much, except time, but a respray certainly will.

Doesn't sound like too much work is needed then. Some poor unfortunate NSX'less person could get themselves a bargain :) They should snap it up and treat it to a life of pampered ownership, interspersed with Euro tours and trackdays... or is that just me :)

Difficult to tell from the photos but doesn't look to need much more than a loving new keeper. I'd guess that the previous keeper cared for it (at least for some of the time) due to the fact they have invested in an NSX plate, probably from new.

I need more space and money then I coud have this for cruising, Kev's for track days, an auto for a daily and mine coz its not going anywhere :D

I just paid £215 for 12 months tax on my 55 plate daily driver which has a bigger engine and higer emmisions than the NSX.

In 2 years time (2011) you'll be paying £455pa for a facelift NSX compared to £195pa for an earlier car. Of course the next government will probably monkey around with the plans as they currently are so the gap may close.

As motoring in general has long since been politicised thereby removing the requirement for real facts to be taken into account, ALL cars are evil and anyone selfish enough to own and use one must be heavily punished. I therefore suspect we'll all be shafted by any further changes.

Even so an extra £260 a year is really only a drop in the ocean of annual deprieciation, insurance, fuel, servicing, wear and tear (tyres) etc so it shouldn't really put you off.

Might slightly bolster the values of late model 3.2Ltr pop-up NSX's which are virtually identical mechanically to the >2002's :)

I know I have taken myself outside and given myself a good beating with a stick, especially as I have the nerve to have a Supra TT + Another car and 1 company car (although the company car is an eco-warrior Fiesta :rolleyes:).

I paid £210 for a years tax on my 4.6is V8 Petrol X5 this year before I sold it. My NSX is only £190.

However a friend of mine had to pay £410!! on his DC5 Integra Type-R, so I'm not sue how this system wprks yet??? I'm not even sure the goverment know what they are doing lol

No, this isn't the same car as we went out in that one at the Supercar Sunday. The guy had fully restored the interior and it looked really good, sounded awesome as well when he gave it some beans :D.

I saw this face lift silver NSX at Silverstone Classic last month and its owner came over to the club. The car was with another club and its owner does charity work in it, where people donate in order to be taken around for a spin. This car has no vin plate and discussed a while back here, it look well exterior wise from a distance, but didn't see the interior.
