Speedo Glitch

I was running the car along the motorway last week when the speedo needle suddenly started doing cart wheels and loop the loops for about 15 seconds. Well it did not loop the loop as i think there is a little peg to stop it going full circle - but you get the drift. My NSX is possibly one of the oldest here '91 but has anyone else experienced this and if so whats the prognosis doctor?

I think the speed sensor can go on the blink, about thirty five dollars on the sites I've seen. No idea how easy it is to get to though.

possibly speed sensor.. may just be as simple as dirty contacts in the connector... disconnecting and reconnecting it a couple of times should sort it, but it is difficult to get to!
