We've put a deposit down on a NSX this evening and all being well pick it up on Monday :).

Made the decision after having the car checked out by Stratstone Honda today. They said that the car was nice and straight, and the engine good and strong. The only thing wrong really was that it looked like it had had some bad cosmetic work done, to possible respray stone chips/scratches. So with a little TLC some come back well.

So all I need to do now is sell the Supra so that the front of the house doesn't look like a car park for too long.

I must admit to being a little concerned about the colour only because a few years back I bought a brand new Honda Accord Coupe in a very similiar colour which I loved to bits. But unfortunately some idiot driving the other wrote it off for me whilst I was in the car, so a Honda in that colour with a dark interior has sad memories for me.

However the NSX is an awesome machine and that engine note can't fail to make you smile so I am sure that it will be happy times ahead :cool::thumbsup:

Oh thank you. I have a quote for Timing belt, water pump and all the stuff required on a 72k service from my honda specialist, so will be looking to booking it in for that next month, as well as it's MOT which is due in October.

(All of which I factored into the agreed price along with 4 new tyres). First month of ownership is going to be a little expensive but at least I know that I'll be off to a good start once I have the work done. :)

Not sure you need worry about the water pump. Early cars had a small design fault but later ones fixed that. Might be worth doing "while you're down there" but is probably overkill.

I skipped the water pump at my last cam belt service, just after I bought the car 4 1/2 yrs ago, but might do it at with the next one along with the Harmonic balancer as my car is 12yrs old now.

Ha Ha, Russian Roulette with a 100,000 bullet chamber maybe. It's not even a service item per see.

I'm just saying that a 2002 registered sub 50K car doesn't need need it and will almost certainly not need a waterpump until at least the next cambelt change.

Of course if you don't want to leave anything to chance, timing belt change time is a great time to do it. Why not change the oil pump, clutch, gearbox syncros and all the wheel bearings as well just in case ;)

If you don't change the waterpump and it seizes causing the timing belt to jump thereby forcing the valves to hit the pistons don't say I told you not to do it :)

We've already decided on changing the water pump because we are of the opinion to have it changed whilst they are down there. Saving paying out for a large labour bill again at a later date.

I agree with markc regarding the wp, they are made by Honda after all :-)

I changed mine when I had the tb done a few years ago, it had not been changed with tb the previous time, I was given the old wp back after and it was like new still.
