Hmmmmm, might just have to pay my latest speeding ticket instead of contesting it, as either way I'll get shafted. :(

I see the governments point, if a rich person can afford to spend thousands of pounds on lawyers to find a technicality which lets them off, but in principle they have committed the offence, why should we all pay the rich persons costs. On the other hand if it means that if you contest a fixed penalty which is obviously wrong, but you end up paying more to prove your innocence then this is also wrong, and will encourage the authorities to penalise us for anything and everything knowing it will be cheaper for us to pay the fine, then this will amount to legal theft. Does anyone know the the terms and limits to claiming costs?
