Seen that earlier, looks fantastic! Maybe a possible error on the year or maybe ist a late registered car? No reg showing though so cant do the usual check to see. There web site says it's a "55" reg so late 05 early 06??

I seem to remember there was a silly stand off between a two of guys who'd bought a couple of the famous last 12 UK cars so that they could claim THE last UK registered car. Makes no difference really as they were all built at the same time.

The price is a bit rich for anyone in the UK that is going to actually drive the car.
OK it is probably the lowest mileage example available, but as soon as it is driven more than a few thousand miles each year it'll have lost it's 10K premium over the few 02+ NA2's that have been sold in the last year.

I predict that it'll be bought to be resold in Japan for 10 - 11M Yen, or perhaps Hong Kong.

These last very low mileage cars are effectively international commodities to be bought by investors with strong currencies at their disposal, rather than cars to be driven, which is :(.

If only I had a bit more NZD cash lying around......;)

Shame its red really ... if you want to claim the last special Uk car, could of at least ordered it in a special colour combo which was available to all to do at the time.

As above, I guess this will be leaving our shores sometime soon and the seller is hoping for such a buyer, hence the price

Start with Red and end in Red.....nothing wrong with that....It is the fastest colour ;).

It's probably this car.

JHMNA21405S200010 3.2 R9NSX NSX RED 2006

So not the last chassis number by a long way.

I understand HUK ended up specing and pre ordering some of the last 12 themselves due to a lack of interest in them. That car doesn't seem to be one of them anyway.

Red with black interior is a classic if not adventurous NSX combo. The blue dials look wrong in that combo though. In fact the blue dials just look wrong period... IMHO of course.

Is there a record of the colour combos the 12 were ordered in?

I think it's quite positive that there's an international trade in good NSX's, it demonstrates interest in the car that bodes well for it's status as a design icon and future classic :)

Simon may be able to add more info .... or Nigel as he was there to collect his own car. Pictures below are from Nigels original post http://www.nsxcb.co.uk/testvb/showthread.php?t=872

... and as they say on all those wonderful reality shows ... In no particular order;

1. Silverstone Coupe with Black trim
2. Silverstone Targa with Blue trim (now in Hong Kong)
3. Pearl White Coupe with Red trim (Nigel's car)
4. Berlina Black Coupe with Red trim (Paul's car)
5. Berlina Black Coupe with ?? trim (Had jersey plates)
6. Red with Black trim - now for sale
7. Monza Red Pearl with Black trim -
8. LBBP with Black trim - ?
9. Yellow with Black trim - was HUK fleet car
10.Sebring with Blue trim - ?
11.
12.

These are the ones I recall for sure. I also think there may have been a Silverstone/Black Targa, a NIOP Targa (possibly the one seen at last years London Motor Show), and another Monza Red with xx trim. I
Can anyone verify if the Silverstone / Black Targa exists?

Given the markets in Europe and the far east I would say this was a cheap price.

A fairly limited colour pallet then. I guess you could only chose from the then optional UK colours?

Given the iconic status of the NSX-R and the fact that it is Japan's official racing colour, I'm surprised none were spec'd with the flat white (Championship White).

I don't think other than the year there is much difference between a 5k miles 2002 or 2006.

At the end of the day the NSX is a mass produced car, a special one but nothing like a Pegaso Z series, Facel Vega, Bizzarrini, etc when it comes to rarity.

Strange comparison AR, were you on the Merlot last night :)

I don't think it's fair to compare a cars manufactured in the 90's with ones from 50's/60's. Pretty much every modern car could be considered mass produced, in terms of a production line build process, these days even the likes of Pagani, Koenigsegg and yes, Morgan now!

I was looking at Ferrari production numbers the other day. They built >12,000 F355's (5yrs) and >19,000 360's (5yrs) which compares favourably with the 18,000 NSX's that crawled off the line at Tochigi over a 15yr period. I'm not suggesting either is hand built but times have changed.

Rarity alone does not guarantee collectability or value, although it does help if only from the oddity factor. I've always fancied getting my hands on a Gordon Keeble (99 made and still not expensive) for that very reason but my Citroen CX is odd enough for now :)

Over 70,000 E Type Jaguars were built and famously more than 1 million Ford Mustangs in the first 18 months of it's production. Both very collectible and examples of mass produced vehicles worth many times their price when new.

I think i would agree with AR on this. The price on the 2006 is probably over by about 8 to 10k especially in the current climate and I dont think that many are going abroad at the moment.Surely the nsx is collectible and probably was from the day it was made but prices of all cars at the moment are pegged down.

Nowhere did I say that the car was overpriced, if I had an extra 45K lying around I might buy it to keep as a "spare". What I mean is that a 2002 or a 2006 with 5 miles are not much different from each other.

No green fairies influencing my posts. :)

Sorry Kal but I think your wrong. I've had 3 people approach me through NSXCB to buy my NSX in the last 3 months, and an acquaintance in the motor trade told me only last week that the NSX is one of only a handful of cars that is not losing money and if anything is going up.

Mark your not alone I'm happy to talk the NSX up :)

I am not really a prospective owner of a post 2002 model to be honest as my preference is for the pop up light varietyand I am not talking prices down.Dealers will always tell you a different story depending on whether you are selling or buying.I have sold three of these cars in the past and they dont walk of the drive in a shot.My perspective on it is that if you compare it to certain Ferraris etc and turbos most people will look over the NSX.I agree the car technically in terms of quality of build etc is easily worth 45k or more but come to selling the whole ball game changes especially in the present climate.

You're not alone Mark!

I was able to publically voice our combined interest with the PPC article and have posted several times against this 'knocking'.

I know of at least 3 NSX of 02+ variety that have left these shores for HK, the most recent was only a few weeks ago, so if this one follows I would not be surprised.

I'm still in touch with a few traders from years gone by and they independently echo the comments from Paul above about the NSX.

regards, Paul

I was of the understanding that the used sports car market had rebounded over the last six months?

Some stuff has definitely increased in value. 996TT's and 997's are worth quite a lot more. Last February you could pick up a 996 turbo for high 20's/low thirties. Now they all seem to be around the mid to high 30's.
With regard to NSX's. the facelift market has certainly firmed up, with 4-5 cars selling in the last couple of months and for pretty good money all considered.
Well presented cars in good colours will always sell. A couple of those facelift cars sold within a week and mine sold after three. I've also had another 4 people contact me about my car in the last few weeks because I forgot to withdraw the ad from NSXCB.
I don't think the late car on PH is necessarily overpriced. It's certainly not 8-10K over the top. That car's no way worth mid thirties when my 43k miles 02 car sold for £30K.

Cheers,

James.

Yes, I can verify it!

It is RA55 XCX (memory!) and had things worked out a bit different, I'd actually own it! I've still got the correspondence on file...

Odd that the PH ad still shows, yet isn't listed in the NSX classifieds section!

I think all premium cars have gone up in value recently, you could get a DB9 for silly money last year. People have gained confidence with the whole recession aftermath now, and prices reflect this.
