When i went to insure the car they asked did it have a alarm, i replied yes as it has a red flashing light, a fob you insert in the car next to the key thingy.

Apparently this isn't a Cat 1 alarm system and the insurer has requested me to fit a cat 1.

What is the alarm on the NSX?

Can someone recomend a good Cat 1 alarm and a fitter. I have had several prices so far. One of which was jaw dropping. Think my mistake was saying what car it was being fitted to before the price. Well Sir surely you want a car like that well sercured?? but £699 and that's after i asked them if they could do any better on the price. that is the discounted one.

I can get that alarm fitted else where for £499 but true what he said it's only as good as the fitter.

Not an expert on alarms but I have never had any problem with mine.
Its a Clifford Intelliguard 950 and seems to satisfy the insurance companies.

Would Tracker or Track Star not be a better option as nobody pays any attention to car alarms nowadays?
