Taken Spring last year. Never shared them at the time, thought it'd be a good time to post them up...here's the first few (he says, frustrated by the '4 images per post' limit):-

...and just so I don't end it on an odd number, here's one of the the more eye-catching things we saw! I'll let you guess what the stall is selling...

Superb photo's, thanks for sharing.
Was thinking of getting a 40D, is it worth upgrading from a 30D or go straight to a 50D?
What lens are you using, I assume non Canon?

Cheers mate!
I went from a 20D, and the useful extra stuff (in order of use) are:-
- Sensor-clean function
- Larger rear screen
- Extra fps
...beyond that, it's pretty much the same. The extra Mp aren't THAT big a deal...8.2 was plenty to start with. IIRC the 30D is just an upgraded 20D, so the same stuff applies - it's nice, but it's not a major step-up! I was supposed to be selling the 20D body, but decided to keep it as a back-up body for some of our recent hols (places we may never go back to)...
50D? It's supposed to be a lot of money for what you get...AIUI, far better to go for the 7D if you want to spend that level of money (assuming you take lots of sports/action photos) or a 5D Mk2 (assuming you take lots of portraits/landscapes).
My 2p? A 40D with an L-series lens or two will get better results than either the 50D or the 7D with an ordinary lens, and a 30D with an L-series lens will give results virtually indistinct from the 40D. So unless you've already got all the glass you want, spend the money there first...my Dad's just got a 24-105L and it's sharper than a sharp-thing that's just been whetted! So tempted...
Oh...my lenses...Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 for most of the above, and a Canon 70-300IS for the longer stuff. Tamron is very good, but feels fragile.

Lovely pictures Havoc, I would love to visit Japan one day, maybe a joint trip with my regular visit to HK/China. By the way , what is that colourful stall selling, pineapple fritters of some colourful form?

It's fruit, but it's not pineapple, nor fried...

Cheers Havoc, I have the 24-105 L lens already so I should just learn how to use it properly I suppose!
