Honda has quoted me £140 +VAT for a new coolant expansion tank + £38 for a cap. Dali looks like it is $77 for the bottle and $17 for the cap. Is there a UK supplier or does anybody have a spare? I know that some people have changed the original bottle to a more attractive black one supplied by Dali.

The bottle:

The cap:

I am happy for people to contact me on my mobile: 0798 4419 473

Thanks

but the oem one is so ugly!

why not get one of these instead? (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=1383)

alternatively I have my old oem one one in the shed - £50 inc postage to the UK to the first taker

Thanks for the help/advice. Went for this in the end:

http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/engine_performance_products/NSX/ScienceofSpeed/coolant_tank/

$243 including $45 shipping. It looks good, fits the existing tank attachment points, and has good reviews on NSXprime.com.

Will let you know how well it works.

£203 for a plastic OEM bottle and cap from Honda
£138 for an aluminium aftermarket version

Fitted the Science of Speed replacement expansion tank at the weekend. Dead easy; fits existing mount points, hoses go on without any fuss. Pressurises OK. Looks great. Overall very happy.

This may be a dumb question but how do you check the coolant level with these opaque looking tanks?

Didn't have my camera with me over the weekend but the Silver Lustre finish looks good in a red car.

You can check the coolant level based on the temperature of the side of the tank when the engine is warming up. Not ideal but good enough. A heat reactive sticky strip would be useful.

So whats the deal, are these form over function, or are they opaque because its cheaper? Seems a little max power to me, but I'm an old fuddy-duddy thats best ignored.

The standard bottle has been known to crack with age. The aluminium replacement shouldn't and being ali, 'looks racy'.

Some ali bottles have a clear tube on the outside which can show the water level, guess this one doesn't.

Though someone like www.baileymotorsport.co.uk could (I guess) make up something similar in the UK.

Thanks, to be honest just wanted to see where it was! As yet I have only investigated the engine bay to clean it...
