I've bought myself a new set of BBS wheels
7.5J X 17 front and 9J X 18 rear

Question 1 is which tyre size should I go for? for the fronts I think I will stay with 215/40/R17's but for the rears do I go with 265/35/R18's or 275/35/R18's?

Question 2 which brand of tyre? I was thinking about going with Pirelli P Zero Corsa, or do I go with Bridgestone Potenza RE050 or with A N Other make?

Do they make they goodyear f1 asymmetric in those sizes? How much of an increase in rolling radius will 275/35 give you over current? If more than a few %, this could help your VMax as it would mean you could stay in 5th.

I've got a set of BBS LM's sat in my shed, they are the gold edition ones, 18" front and rear off our old Supra.
Don't know if they would fit the NSX, got to get the centers powder coated as there is some flaking, but once that is done there are going up for sale.
At the moment they have 235's on the front and 275's on the rear.

No not these ones but a set that went up for sale at the begining of the year, but the price Pegi is asking is very good, so I bet he got a lot of interest.

Paul those would look sick ( as in HOT ) on a black NSX!

I would be getting some soft compounds sticky rubber 888 etc on those and keeping the OEM for the winter/wet season .

Hi Paul,

OEM front size but 265/35 on the rears. No TCS issues over past 2k miles, and running with the HanKook Evo 12. Good all weather grip and was very sure footed in snow, ice and heavy rain in Wales over the winter. Sticky rubber, whilst nice to have, might limit your all year usage.

As Ary says, they will look superb (aka sick) once fitted.

Paul, why not go with 225x35x17 front and 265x30x18 rear? (or 215x35x17 and 255x30x18)

This would lower the gearing by just under 2% (3%), theoretically increasing acceleration and potentially top speed (by helping 6th gear) while matching front and rear rolling radius to keep the TSC/ABS happy :)

Point 1, I thought any thing bigger than 215 upfront might cause rubbing issues? (and before James or Matt replies I know I could use Vaseline :D )

Point 2, If I went with 215x35x17 and 255x30x18 to lower the gearing won't this have the knock on effect of putting the speedo out?

I don't think that 225's will be an issue. I currently have 225x45x16 on the front of mine and do not experience any rubbing.

In theory it would make the speedo under read by a few percent BUT as in practice they always over read it will almost certainly make it more accurate.

To answer my own questions I went with 215/40/R17's up front and 265/35/R18's on the rear, plus I went with A N Other brand, I managed to get a set of ADVAN Neova AD08's.

These will fitted in time for this weekends trip to Germany so should be able to give feedback on my return.
