installed various bits at different intervals in the last 3 weeks.
1. ball joints.. dali $1200/pair.. front right was worn.. install time 2 hours approx..huge difference after these went on.. car felt noticeably "tighter".. and the ride more compliant
2. poly steering rack bushings inner outer tie rod ends.. dali.. steering a little sharper and again car tightened up a little more.. install one hour using a lift.. loosen the steering rack on both sides at once.. you 'll have to re-align afterwards but it makes the bushing install much easier
3. chassis bars.. front upper /lower.. rear lower.. dali /SOS.. major difference again on top of the previous 2 installs.. much better turn in.. much faster response
overall the car after its re-allignment felt absolutely planted.. perhaps breaks away a bit earlier at the limit.. i gave it a right thrashing last night on an irish b-road and felt the back end slip a little sooner but with more predictability..
the new ball joints produced the biggest difference..the car went from feeling a little "tired" ,73k miles on the clock(on irish roads !!), to something close to out of the box.. worth getting? expensive but definitely made a significant difference..
the poly steering bushes?installed these with tie rods and yes the steering is sharper to the extent thats its worthwhile..
chassis bars? again was pleasantly surprised.. these were last to go on and felt like the cherry on the icing... car feels very fresh now..
anti roll bar bushings to go on next week and i'll report on these when finished and also on the dali window fix it
