What year did the NSX get a chip-in-key immobiliser?

I'm seriously considering just ripping-out and replacing the current alarm system, but I want to know whether I need to get a complete Thatcham Cat-1 system, or whether I can go with a piggy-back system which is alarm only but becomes Cat-1 because of the in-built immobiliser?


(It'll also prevent any problems if this alarm system dies in the future, as it won't then be able to immobilise the car...)

I believe it is the '97 cars onwards that have the immobiliser chip in the keys.
