I've decided to go for a full 'engine out' timing belt service and when we're in that far it would be silly not to replace clutch and fly as it will probably need done in a year's time anyway.

What are the standard and aftermarket options and prices for general fast road use (3.2 / 6 speed manual / 02>)?

Cheers :)

hi conor

my old evo mechanic Ian Cuddy at ICM Dungannon can supply Exedy clutches and they do a version for the NSX. Think Ian talked around 1500 to me when i mentioned changing to NSX with him ... give him a shout, he will give you a firm price on this and he is an Exedy supplier/specialist

regards

Cheers Nobby.

Yeah - we are actually Exedy distributors and I reckon I will go down that route as the OEM honda kit is quite expensive.

I'm just trying to decide between the single and double plate kit.

I'm edging towards the single plate as the car is only used for fast road use.

Can anyone confirm that the HH04SD (http://www.exedy.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4_46&products_id=3092) Hyper Single kit fits the 02> NA2 6 speed manual?

My Autocat + states NA1/2 C30/32B so I assume it covers the complete range.

Also - is there anything else needed with this or is it complete kit?

Cheers.

I'm just trying to decide between the single and double plate kit.

If you wanted to install the double plate clutch you would need to change the input shaft on your gearbox.

Yeah that's another reason why I would be leaning towards the single plate kit.

gcon, as your car is a 6 speed is it not a double plate clutch already fitted as standard?

I thought NA2 were all single plate systems?

Here's another option as well as the obvious OEM replacement if you want to avoid potential heavier pedal operation.

The other combo that has been used is to install the OEM cluthc but with a JUN light-weight flywheel. I recently drove Silver Surfers car that has the JUN install. No noticeable pedal change but the faster revving and deceleration of engine speed was noticeable.

Correct, the only NA2 with a double plate clutch was the NSX-R.

The pedal feel will come from the pressure plate used.

Can someone confirm this?

All 3.0 ltr upto and including 96 are double plate clutches. All 3.2's are the single plate with more expensive flywheel except for the NA2 NSX-R which reverted back to the double plate clutch

I would not go for an Exedy one if your car is stock, I have test driven a 3.2 with one of them fitted, great grab, but really hard to launch cleanly.

I knew there was a differance between NA1 and NA2  (apart from engine, gearbox, etc, etc)

This is what bothers me Ary.

I don't understand why Exedy don't make a complete 'standard' kit for the NSX.

ADL do make a standard kit but oddly don't make the dual mass flywheel.

Luk do make a flywheel but don't make a 3 piece kit but I'm dubious about mixing brands.

Is you clutch going?

I would be inclined to keep the OEM unless you have plans to increase the power.

I might be going to an Exedy or similar one once I go high boost, but so far OEM clutch is holding fine, granted I only put the power down when rolling.

You know how it goes when they see you rollin...they be hatin LOL
