View Full Version : New steering wheel
Well I guess I am getting old or the car is too fast as my hands tended to sweat during spirited drives. So I found an Aston Martin GT2 wheel:

It is a very nice piece of kit but not made for MOMO hubs:

Some work with the head and the drill and the end result:

The feeling is 100 times better than the MOMO 350mm NSX-R type wheels.

Liking the suede finish but not so sure about the lumps and bumps around the rim.
330mm looks like it's a bit small, I assume the rim obscures some of the instrument panel as the 350mm Tuner JUST frames it perfectly. Should be a good workout as well with no EPS ;)

Mark,
I have not found it to obscured them. Somehow it feels lighter with this wheel. Must be the way it moves my arms on or something, but I love the feel of it. The MOMO felt great, but was a bit vague.

That would have looked great with the NSX-R alcantara dash!
Very fluffy, how does it compare price wise to the Momo and what are you doing with your Momo, mofo?

There is some of that alcantara in the pipeline. Price wise is hard to tell as this is an off works wheel so not readily available, but similar Sabelts are more expensive than the MOMO Tuner. Probably will put the MOMO up for sale soon.

What have you done with your cruise switch?

I deleted my Cruise Control to shed a few pounds so is no longer needed.

AR, do you have a list or step by step of what parts to disconnect (and reconnect) and remove?
Being a JDM car mine didn't work over 70mph (112kph) anyway, not that you can really use them safely on congested UK roads, so I never bothered to hook it up when I fitted the Momo.

Hi Mark I don't mate but I believe that Sudesh did a write up. If you just want to take the main heavy bit in the front compartment is very easy.

WHeels looks great to me. Bumps hold your hands in position better ??
For my size hands it works superb.

Soon as I am ready, you'll be the first to know. :)

That looks great Ary! The wheel looks allot more chunky the the momo, is there much difference in the thickness?
I have not measured it Sudesh but it "feels" thicker and the contour really suits me.
