Hi all,
I have logged on here on behalf of my boss. It's OK with his permission.
He has a 2000 Black,Targa, 3.2(IIRC) Tiptronic with Beige trim 60K miles with the VIN 000005(cannot remember how many zero's)
He is the only private owner the car has had but it was apparently owned by Honda UK and had circa 1K on clock when he bought in 2001.
He would really like to know if anyone has any info about the car.
We,he, believes it MAY have been a Honda show car as we believe it has some odd options, the engine size and Targa top and the beige trim.
It is not my vehicle so I am not prepared to post the Reg No as it is a private plate but once he confirms its origonal I will post that.
Will also post pics with his permision.
BTW I drive the car in my avatar.Proton Satria GTI Lotus Edition and have a BMW R1200GS M/C.

Hi and welcome,
To answer your question, if the car is AUTO then its a 3.0 engine, they never made the auto with a 3.2.
Targa and trim color is not odd either. So all in all he doesnt have anything out of the ordinary really. Sounds like a nice car though!

We are pretty sure it is a 3.2.This is why he thinks its an odd one. Also why would the vin number be 5 for a 2000 car?

Definitely not a 3.2 if its Auto/F-matic [Tiptronic]
All auto's from production start to finish are 3.0
I think the numbers you are reading is also the plate on the door sill, the VIN/Chassis if its a UK car will start with JHM

This may help
According to the workshop manual a typical number may be JH4 NA1 15 MT 00001. Made up as follows:
JH4 Honda Motor Co
NA1 NSX
15 Manual (25 = Auto)
M Year (1991)
T Toguchi Factory
00001 Serial number
Hope this helps

Hard to answer your question without more details, just look in the V5 and it will tell you the engine capacity. As Sudesh has stated the colour and trim was a standard offering for the car.

Yeah the 000005 is in the door sill.
So what is that?
From Memory its do with the production of the car that year.
EDIT: check this:
I checked the car and the sill plate only has the last section of the VIN number. In my case it is T000809 meaning the 809th NSX produced at the Toguchi factory (in 1991)

This may help
Ahh great will pass this on.
Like I say he has always been lead to believe it is a 3.2.
I put new discs on it a couple of months ago and they were totally different to the ones listed for his chassis number.Much bigger.
