after doing the solenoid flush a couple of times, i'm still getting the pump running erratically...

some mornings it'll run once/twice after moving off, other days it'll do the 5 seconds on, 5 seconds off all the way to work if i can't find somewhere to exercise the ABS, which sometimes clears it, sometimes not! other mornings i'll not get a peep (those these are rare!!) so solenoid seals/ accumulator going flat/ pressure sensor iffy/something else.....

so, as i',m getting cheesed off with it, i'm looking for another unit, that i can refurb before swapping into my car! it's a '92 if that makes any difference....

what have you got???

Hi, britlude.

Please try Hagasan as I think he will be converting his ABS to the latest spec as mine.

My original ABS kit is already allocated for another owner so I can't pass it on to you but Hagasan may be able to help you on this. I need to let him know the pin out for the ABS upgrade wiring loom before he can start the conversion....

Did you flush all four solenoids and also the accumulator?
Did all four solenoids react in the same way when you applied the voltage on the pins?

Regards,
Kaz

Hi Kaz... thanks for the heads-up, i'll PM Hagasan and see what he says!

all 4 solenoids react the same, a decent flow-thru of fluid when energised, i've flushed/ renewed the fluid twice over the last 2 weeks, but still getting erratic behavior. (i flush the system twice after replacing the fluid, when finished and the solenoid activated the fluid flows clear, not foamed!)

when the pump has been doing it's 5 seconds on/five seconds off routine, i've checked the abs fluid, it's a little aerated, but not frothing over (like i have seen reported on prime) which could suggest the accumulator on the way out.

either way i was planning on servicing a replacement unit, and swapping it in.

I have one. I was demounted in 2008 and worked perfectly. It was flushed every two years. I just went for the newer version as I changed my brake setup to bigger ones. Don't know if a LHD ABS works in a RHD.

thanks for the offer goldnsx, but i believe the units are handed for LHD and RHD...

the latest update... i've bled/exercised the solenoids and abs system again, this time taking off the fluid reservoir and making myself a widget that allows me to backflush the solenoids, simply a small fluid reservoir with a piston that i can push down when each solenoid is activated!

so i'm pretty confident that the solenoids are most definately flushed, the system is bled and no bubbles/frothing. after initial test/exercising the abs the pumps runs for 5-10 seconds, recharging the system as it should and then stays silent. activating the abs causes it to pump away immdiately, hinting the accumulator might be down on pressure.

can someone with access a parts list check the accumulator and pressure switch part numbers for a 91/92 nsx...

i have this from prime...

select p/n's:
3 57070-SG0-801, Accumulator

23 57390-SL0-003, Switch Assy, Pressure

Does this help you Jon?

Obviously for LHD car but most parts should be the same as RHD.

latest update.... my backflush gadget has done the trick, the pump now doesn't cycle every 5 seconds! it cycles once each morning, but only once! I now have a new accumulator and pressure switch, and managed NOT to give HUK £870.99 (delivery 22nd october!!!) and i'll post pics when i fit it!
