Yellow NSX - New Auction

For those searching a good example this may be of interest.

This may possibly belong to a former member here, I suppose.

There is a trend for small time traders bagging such cars at cheap prices and selling on at a substantial markup.

Wheels aren't standard for a (UK) '94, not that that necessarily means anything. Does look good though.

IMHO it's estimating strong money for a UK '94 at auction, but if that's what they're fetching nowadays then I'm happy...

I thought '90-94 cars had the 5-spoke 15"/16" combination, and the 16"/17" 7-spokes came in '95 with the shorter FD and standard PAS?

very nice! as an owner of a 94 yellow NSX (albeit JDM), she looks extremely well. Those are 94 wheels as they are on my car!

I thought that too but a chin spoiler to me would be the black bit at the bottom lol The other part is just the front bumper!

HI all,

Car did not sell, I spoke to the auctioneers today. They will accept an offer of 20k on the car. It is not going to be re-auctioned so look out for it being listed elsewhere....

Auction director was very complimentary about the car and said it was one of the nicest examples he had seen.

No surprises that it didn't sell. The £18-20K auction estimate did seem a little rich even for one in good condition.

Being cynical, exactly how many NSX's HAS the auction director seen?!?

If that's a genuine '94 UK car with good history and good condition, then the asking price is good private sale money, not auction money. That said, there aren't many around at the moment, so if someone wants one they'll have to pay the asking price...

I was just repeating what the auctioneer said to me, he sounded v. sincere :)

I think the 20K was what the seller is looking for.(including a little commision
presumably)

Another dealer trying to make a quick profit. Uses words like T-Bar. Just shows what he knows about these cars.

Could well be. Unless prices have really firmed up in the last 12 months, or that's recently had everything done to it, then that's strong money from an independent dealer...

Perhaps the overwhelming number of S2000 buyers are moving onto the NSX now that cold weather is creeping up.

I do like this car (but i guess i am biased)... seems to be in good nick for sure. But as with everything you need to see it up close and personal

The price is debateable, I am sure there is some room for negotiation so its factored in no doubt.

Terrible description on the car which will not help its potential sale. Why oh why can people not put decent write up's about cars. :no:

(Funnily enough I found my S2000 to be a pussycat in the snow and ice - the diff made it really predictable, and the lower grip/speeds made breakaway more MX5-like...)

+1. And besides dealers (unlike private sellers) tend to price in 10% negotiating headroom to the ask price. If it's £20k and a clean UK car it's strong money, as havoc says, but not silly money. Could be a terrific buy.

Agreed.

Or that there is a nominal (£10?) charge for new / non-platinum members to post adverts (like PH introduced a couple of years ago - only pre-existing members got 'free' premium ads). If traders / retailers are going to benefit from the existence of the forum, shouldn't the forum benefit in return???

(Which reminds me - need to renew my subs, ran-out when on hols)

I think the price near 22k seems highish? But there are so few for sale at present, so price might not be too optimistic.
