Hello,

My name is jago stokes and I have a 1988 rover 827 powered with a honda c27a2 engine, however i work at clifford cox engineering in reading and we have a dyno, as the nsx is my fave car, i would love to give one a power run on the dyno to see how my 4 years of playing with the 827's engine have done,

currently i have 310hp at 6022 and 271lbs at 5967 with help from 75hp(0.036"/0.026") of nitrous and a few other mods....

however i would like to get more from her, and i have seen that you can take the c30 fairly high however i'm not sure how much further i can go on the standard ecu.

If i read your post correctly,i don't see how putting a car with a different engine on the dyno will help.If the NSX had the same engine as you have put in your rover, then fair enough, but it's a different engine.

Regards,

Ivor.

hi, the reason i would like to get an nsx on the dyno is that without the v-tec you only have 300cc on me, and i think you should have the same torque that i have up to that point.

also i have not actually had a good look at the engine, so i'm just keen to see one properly

Hi Jago not sure where you are located but I have a 3.0 engine on a stand if you fancy having a look.

Also dont forget that cam profiles and yours is using forced induction.

hi i am in didcot, south oxfordshire or reading, berkshire when at work

cam profiles are something which i dont have any information on, i have a rough idea of my profiles and the std nsx ones.

without the nitrous i have 220 hp and 200lbs so i hope i'm not to far away from the non v-tec outputs.

i'll register so i can pm you AR

Hi Jago,

Interesting read and nice figures, I also believe that the Kerb weight of the 800 series is not bad for such a big car, around 1427kg

Depending on NSX year/Model, that's about 62kg more you have.

hi, now i have registered i'll give abit more detail about my car

it is a 1988 rover 827si auto that i have converted to manual.

i have spent a fair amout of time(4 years) but next to no money(under 3K) modifiying the car, i have gone from 177hp to 223 with out nitrous and 225 to 310 with,

my ideal car is the c30 powered nsx from 1991 on however i cant afford one, so it's only a pipe dream at the moment.

so my aim with my rover is to have as much power as best i can without spending thousands of pounds.

currently i am looking at newen valve seats and a pair of reground cams. to aid the low end output

Jago sounds like an impressive project. Don't let the NSX be a pipe dream if you want it, you can get it.

Cheers,

WHat is the rev limiter at? Never seen power and torque peaks so close together!

now i can post pics here is the power graph na and with nitrous.

i think the graph is like this as the the fogger is not atomising properly and it's leaning out a little as it's going up the rev band, but my gas analiser was showing 12% co.

What revs does the Nitrous come in? I'm kidding... it really is genius stuff isn't it :)

The term "Fogger" suggests it's a US system? The best stuff is made right here in Blighty by Highpower Systems International a.k.a "The Wizards of NOS". Their Pulsoids are so much better than the old American Solenoids.

ah yes, it is sort of... i have made the system up from bits here and there. however i have just got my self a 2nd 'nos' kit so i can have 2 stages at the inlet butterfly stages.

however i have been looking at the won items for direct port, only issue i have with that set-up is the metering jets are before the solenoids so the distrobution blocks etc are all low pressure so the N2o flow will be less even.

Just incase any one wants to come down tomorrwo i am there from 9am until 5pm also a power run will be FREE, just so i can get the data required. e.g. fueling, power, torque, etc....

or in fact any saturday

I work at clifford cox engineering in reading RG1 8LG (junction of medow road for sat navs)

right today we (my friend richard and i) did a little tuning with the old girl so we set the jets to 50hp but the NOS spec'd sizes then we leaned her out to get the fueling right, we have now got a 12 thou gap between the nitrous and fuel jets. this gave me 302hp with a 30 thou nitrous jet, then we thought while we are here we might as well see that the 75hp jets will do..... :)

Why not add a Turbo?
