View Full Version : Separate traders section within the "Vendor" Forum

Good day all!

I was wondering if I could start up a discussion about separating the authorised traders into their own section within the Vendors section. When I became a trader on this board I put up a thread introducing myself, my company and what we do. I then put up two further threads detailing some of the NSX products I've got available for the members. So far so good. However, then Dirk came on board and in my opinion "flooded" the Vendor section with a lot of separate threads, in effect "drowning" my posts! I'm in favour of getting a few traders on board for the benefit of the board's members but I am also paying for the privilege. As such I "expect" to have a certain degree of visibility - something which is currently lacking.

On other boards each paid-up trader gets his/her own section within a general "approved vendors" section. That way the members can easily navigate to the trader they wish to look at without having to sift and sort through dozens of unrelated threads.

I'd therefore like to see what the general opinion is of (a) the board's admin/moderators and (b) the members. I personally would like to see a separate "DTA-Motorsport" section within the Vendors listings.

Looking forward to reading your comments/feedback.

All the best,

Dan

I can see the sense of that propsal.

It would make it easier to see
a) who is who
b) how many vendors are signed up
and
c)make it easier to compare between vendors (and maybe get the odd price war going on? :D )

my £0.02 worth.

Guess its not a problem.

NSXPrime, in the States operates as this does, which is where I modelled our forums on.

I'll do some moving about tonight.

Thanks Kevin! I hope this will make it easier for members to find what they're looking for. Also, did you receive my PM regarding the signatures?

All the best,

Dan

OK, all done. Give it a test and make sure you can post in your area. No-one else will be able to post in your section. I have also made you mods of your areas, so that you can delete replies from people that you don't like. You can create stickies etc.

What would like for a description about yourself on the main index?

I think there is something wrong with the link in your sig. I can't browse to it. There is nothing set in the forum to stop images.

Thanks very much for that Kevin - I can confirm that I can post in the section.

As for the description, could you please change the name to "DTA-Motorsport (UK)" - as there is a Dutch DTA-Motorsport as well. Underneath it I'd like to have "Aftermarket Performance Specialist - tel/fax: +44 (0)7044 016586 web: www.dta-motorsport.co.uk e-mail: info@dta-motorsport.co.uk"
I hope that will fit ...

I take it that the DTA section is now open for anyone looking for parts to post in.

I hope people will see this change as a good step forward ...

Thanks again!

Dan

I tried all combinations to get the links you wanted in the description, but they won't work. It also takes out any formatting.

That's ok Kevin - if you want to leave the links as just "text" then that'll be fine! Thanks for trying and all your help to date.

Regards,

Dan

Ahhhh, I've just checked and you've already done what I suggested in the previous post ... Must do the checking first in future before asking my fingers to do the typing ... ;-) Thanks Kevin!
