Reminds me of an NSX Ute, for some reason.

OK, about as practical as those old VW Transporters where 1/2 the back was filled up with an engine box, but millions of idiots still bought those...

roof down, it's the hump over the engine that makes it look odd, probably forced up to tie in to the door handles... now if you were to shave the handles too....

roof up, yes it looks odd, but only because the roofline drops straight after the window rear corners... if it were to run flat to mimic the original roof line then it wouldn't look bad, ie. the original silhouette!
