Just thinking today, my car is quite an early one, being registered in March 1991 and an early 400's Vin no. 8)

Although it's had a personal reg number for some years, it was originally a"H" registration

Anyone claim an earlier one?

I think mine's one of the earliest 3.2's - registered on Jan 5th 1998. On the door sill it says T0000045.

Wouldn't have thought it's that early though as don't forget there are at least 2 1997 3.2's in the country !!

Isn't the number from that yeaars production only ??

That is odd as mine a T reg is T000013 and is a 99.

Yes, that's right. The numbers start again for each model year IIRC

Was the NSX only made to order by 98? If not then two cars made on the same day could be registered months apart, with the car having the higher production number being registered first. :?

How does the number system work? If I've got T000104 on a 1997 registered car, will I have the same number as the 104th car made in each year?

242 on an H. First Registered 7 march 91 according to the paper work.

Hmm so what I'm saying is the best car I can afford is a 14 and 1/2 year old Honda :?

You mean it gets any better than that???

What you are really saying is the letter on the plate and the badge on the snout matters not, the car is what you are buying, not some item to impress the neighbours.

My dad's NSX has the same number! We got a bit apprehensive on our 13th trackday

At least you can afford the 14 1/2 year old Honda. You should feel better if you think of it as a supercar from Japan that is so good that Ferrari had to build the 355 to compete. :D
