As we have no music section [yet lol] Thought I would post here. I love all kinds of music, I come from a family with musical background; my grandfather was a violinist, one of my uncles plays in a band, my brother is a drummer in a band, another uncle has the amazing ability to play various instruments which he learned himself and what we call "playing by ear" doesnt read notes, just listens to a song and goes from there. I myself play the piano, sax and violin, havent done so in a while but give the odd blast at christmas lol
This is a song that for a while, I couldnt figure out who sung it, but recognised the voice and the score of the music. Then last nite, I heard it on the royal variety and my partner recognised the voice. After some hunting around, I found the artist. UK artist and was the music to a famous film.
Wont be to everyones taste but still a very nice piece of music, and amazing singer.

Great post Sudesh, a lot of that soundtrack is fantastic. Craig Armstrong (who did the instrumentals for r&j) has an amazing catalogue, working with massive attack in a big way, Evan dando, Bono, worth checking out

The track "Unfinished Sympathy" has received high accolades, frequently described as one of the best songs of all time. It was nominated for a BRIT Award as best single of 1991. It also appeared on the soundtrack for the 1993 Sharon Stone film Sliver. According to BBC.co.uk: "More than a decade after its release it remains one of the most moving pieces of dance music ever, able to soften hearts and excite minds just as keenly as a ballad by Bacharach or a melody by McCartney."

A couple of leftfield options for you guys to try...first one by a modern legend, a track which gets me 'up for it'...particularly good in the car.

...and then one which brings me right back down, in a good way. For a rock band, I love the composition of this track.

...and finally something classical that for some reason always hits me in the heart. Proof that one instrument is enough, with the right tune.

Didn't realise you were musical Sudesh. We should get a NSXCB band going lol!
I'm a drummer myself and have studied music performance and production in Derry and Queens.
I notice you're into soundtrack stuff - I was chuffed to bits to see Trent Reznor pick up a golden globe for the Social Network OST being a Nine Inch Nails fan from an early age.
Favourite other artists would be Bright eyes, Tom Waits, Ryan Adams, At the drive-in, Tool... the list goes on.
