depressing read for sure
hoping to go back next year too :(
the couple of days i was there, the amount of people using the track was unreal. it was a full day and the barriers were up and down like billy-o! they were raking it in the days i was there along with merchandise, food, drinks etc
I have to admit though the need for the big visitor centre etc in my opinion is not worth it. Such big space and very little to offer. The roller coaster was not working back in August either ... the whole new bit appears to be a bit of a **** up in all honesty. the bar/restaurant section on the opposite side of the road is good, but not everyone is going to spend time there. you go there to track your car or watch racing.
i will sign any petition to keep this place open, but it appears fundamental errors have been made, and i have seen at first hand how certain parts of the track are NOT pulling the business as originally intended!
On my to do list, hope we don't lose it 1st

According to my information the roller coaster "spectacularly failed" its safety inspection, hence why it isn't running now and is likely to never run.
There's a readable article on Pistonheads about the situation: http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=52&i=23035

I was told recently that it is damaging the building around which its been integrated ... not your typical German efficiency!
