Servicing advice & any recommendations for fixing vandalism (keyed) :(

Hello all,

I need to get my '95 UK car serviced and wondered if you have any recommendations (needs valves & brake fluid change on top of normal stuff). I read there was a specialist in Nth London but cannot find any further info.... I have been to Chiswick & Norton Way in the past but its a bit of a trek and I don't really have the time so any suggestions close to Essex (nr Brentwood) would be great.

Sadly, 6 months after spending £2.5k getting my NSX looking tip top again some PoS has decided to run a key down the rear wing..... done a 'good' job too, right down to the white. Will post pics when I get them, but if you know of anyone who can do smart repairs to try and help with costs I'd much appreciate it!

You could try Dixon at Dixon motorsport. They are based in Erith, (just over the dartford crossing for you). They did Silversufers' supercharger 9see vendor section). Plus he might be able to point you in the right direction for the scratch. IIRC there is a paint shop on the same ind est.

Really sad to hear what total scum has done to your car ... awful reading stuff like that :(
what on earth posesses people to do such awful things to people and their property
hope you get it sorted. By the sounds of it, there may be no easy fix for this, if its down that far it may require a full panel respray.

I would recommend Dixon as Paul has indicated above...he does both mechanical as well as body work repairs and services. You can PM him.

Sorry to hear it; there are some really worthless loser lumps of carbon around these days.

I've not seen any on those 'cosmetic repair' ones that I'd say are any good. The paint is easy to wash off too. I hope you get it sorted a lot less painfully this time around.

Had a "Smart" repair on my bumper a few years back looked OK but in certain lights it stuck out like a sore thumb. 'Luckily' an old biddy scraped the bumper again while it was in Honda's care so they were obliged to paint the whole bumper for me...

Think the whole panel \ side being painted is the sensible option...

Bodywork - maybe drop Tangoman (on s2ki a lot) a line - he's N. London. He does detailing rather than smart repair, but you'd be surprised what a talented detailer can do to a scratch, esp. if you've got a touch-up pen which is a good match.

Servicing - Kaz isn't a million miles away, but if you want someone closer Dixon seems to get some good reports on itr-dc2.com.

That would be my preferred route, rather than chasing the paint blend round n' round the car. It's never perfect, but you have to be looking for it...

I used to know a guy who used a hypodermic needle (!) & a lot of patience to 'run' thinned paint into the keyed hollow & then flat it off. Like using a cocktail stick in a stonechip. But I lost contact with him a few years back.

If i could ask a favour, could you let me know what you go for? I had someone visit my rear bumper of mine in a car park - Best way to describe it is they splintered the paint work on the bumper, and if you are happy with your results i might go the same route.

When the paint has crazed like that (the polyethylene is very flexible, the acrylic ain't) there's not a lot you can do - other than flat it off & blow in the whole rear bumper.
