My NSX has just been detailed by Paul Dalton of Miracle Detail. The paintwork was in a fairly bad way, no doubt because for at least one year of its life it was on show at one of the Honda Inchcape dealers. It must have been dry dusted a few times, and the paintwork is very soft.
Anyhow, Paul has worked his magic and the car now looks fabulous, inside and out.

The guy who does this charges around £75 per hour (which includes labour and materials). My car was around 12 hours, because the paintwork needed a lot of work. He's happy to work to a budget, but for a proper job I'd guess it's at least £700. What's good about it, though, is that once done, provided the car is washed with some care afterwards, the tough protective wax helps keep the car looking good for a very long time. I also got the wheels coated in a protective layer, and this stops the brake dust causing pitting in the alloys.

That would be good, but no wax is that good. I machine polished mine last week. Took about two days. Very straightforward really. If you have the time and the inclination it's actually very satisfying.
It's just attention to detail and being methodical.
Cheers,
James.
