Uploading photos from photobucket?

I started a post recently but when uploading photos from photobucket (1,024px × 768px) to the forum they appeared in a small format so I ended up deleting the post. I've seen some beautifully large photos on this forum: can someone please tell me where I'm going wrong or give me advice before I loose ALL my hair?

Uploading? usually linked via IMG code when I post a pic from Photobucket.

I upload my pics to photobucket at 800x600 for forum use... then just copy and paste a link (using the img option on photobucket).. here's the code for the pic below but with curly brackets around the img and /img.... the actual code has square brackets

comes out thus.....
