My air con has started playing up; with the unit switched off, for no apparent reason the fan will suddenly come on full blast. Despite frantic pressing of buttons I can't switch the fan off - the display remains blank. I can hear the fan speed varying after 10 seconds or so, and eventually it stops only to start up again at random. I can't get the system to switch on when the fan is off; the display remains blank.
Help!

Hi Ken,
Sound like your CCU board is need of repair or the fan resistor in the blower motor
See Kaz's threads here:

If its not the CCU then it could be the resistor in the blower motor

Hi, Ken.
Unless you have already refurbished your A/C Climate Control Unit (CCU) or your NSX is 00+ model, I’m 100% confident to say that the capacitors on your CCU is already leaking.
Honda upgraded some of the capacitors for around 99 model and then made further upgrade for 00+ models but based on what I saw in UK and also the info from Japan, almost all of 99 model were already affected by this issue and some of the 00+ models were showing the same issues.
Your issue sounded very likely to be caused by the leakage but as Sudesh mentioned, it could be the combination of CCU and other issues.
Lots of owners won’t notice this leakage until they start having problem with their A/C.
By that time, the damage is already quite severe so it is always best to carry out the preventative maintenance on the well known weak points on our NSX.

I no longer use PM as I receive so many questions every day and not easy to manage all of the communication through PM.
