Only around 10,000miles, and yours for a cheap £84,000 in Japan, landed here on the road would be around £112,000

That auction price doesnt really make sense?

If it sold at auction in Japan for around the £90k mark, then it made more money that it was forsale by the dealer as they were asking around £84k for it in Japan

Sometimes that's how the auction process goes . Only 4 Targa's we're made for their local domestic market in 2002 so someone wanted it real bad. I put a couple bids in but seeing it go over 11 mil ( ) is quite demoralising when you're shopping for an facelift NSX haha. Back to the drawing board.

Quite. My red 03 Targa is now for sale, offers over £85,000... though it has nearly 50k miles so I'll knock a little off to take account of that ;-)

That's insane. It almost seems worth selling late facelift cars back to Japan, but I hear its close to impossible. Anyone know how possible/impossible this is?

Cheers,

James.

Not impossible however not economic for the purchaser at the other end. Car tax in Japan on imports are very high so they'll stick to their own market. Hong Kong is your best bet for outside UK for a righthand drive market - that's if you want big $$ for your car. Eg :Most of the late model NSX-R's 02-05's that get exported out of Japan go to HK .....
