Interesting.....

How much perceptible difference does all this makes above the suspension and gearing difference between standard and the 'R' ?

Good find Kare. Interesting, whether NA02 02+ engines were blue printed after the R was introduced?

Its seems they dynoed more than the claimed manufactured figures?

Not in the UK they don't!

Nor anywhere else in the world. At no point does Uehara San say that they do... AND if you own a NSX-R you'd better not ever change the clutch assembly without re-balancing the rest of the rotating engine components or you lose horsepowers ;)

Interesting for me to confirm that the was indeed only 1 spec of Type S suspension, as I've long suspected. The S Zero sharing the NA1 NSX-R's which explain also explain why they look virtually identical on track here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrg91ZxQbaw

I was led to believe that the 02+ Type-S suspension was different to the earlier model?

Yes, that was/is one of the NSX myths. According to Uehara San, from that interview, they're exactly the same. Any differences (see link below), objective or subjective, must therefore be down to the wheel/tyre (tyre age/condition as much anything?) and slightly lighter weight over the front axle of the newer car. See here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbZ00YXJ1Xg

G find. Is B&Q or engine balancing something Kaz does as part of the engine refresh? Sounds like it could be best money spent for a performance upgrade!

I'm sure he has the knowledge but probably not the equipment to fully balance the total unit ... but if he does ... GB anyone on Kaz's time

While the balancing process is done by a group of specialists, I’m nowhere near to the skill level of the two people assembling all of the later spec NSX engines.

Speaking of balancing, you will never be able to carry out the same process especially at the level of the NA2 Type-R.
If you want to replace the CL or crank pulley on NA2 Type-R and entered the VIN into the parts system, this is what you will receive in the box.

For NA2 Type-R, not only the internal engine parts were balanced but also the crank pulley, TB drive pulley, CRANK SHAFT, fly wheel and CL components were balanced as a complete assy.
Therefore, you can’t place an order just for a single part but you will be forced to order the complete set if you used the VIN.

No wonder why it sounds so smooth…..

That is obsessional attention to detail.

Mad, but I like it.
