V10 powered NSX Successor?

Honda will further advance its powertrain production system in order to achieve mass production of extremely sophisticated next generation engines, such as VTEC that we discussed at the mid-year conference, the V10 engine that will be installed to the successor model of NSX, and to increase production of hybrid engines to meet growing demand.

As a part of this challenge, and to advance the production technology to the next level, Honda has begun planning to further reform production facility in Japan that is responsible to roll out new powertrain technologies and units to the world. The key to address environmental issues— the most important challenge for automakers in the future – is advancement of the powertrain. I wonder if Honda will continue to go the V10 route for the replacement NSX?

After all, it made sense when the F1 grid was full of them, but now they've reverted to V8's, surely it would make sense for Honda to launch the New car with a 'detuned' version of the Grand Prix winning F1 car . . . . . . that is of course assuming the do win a race :oops:

look at it from another angle.They already do the V10 for formula 1.When they drop down to a V8 the machining and technology for the V10 will be redundant,so why not utilise it in a new NSX? They have to drop to a V8 in order to stay in formula 1.This way they are still getting the benefits of their V10 formula 1 program in a new supercar.

At the visit to Honda Institute (See Greybloke's thread), their feeling was that the 'new NSX' would be Honda's 60th birthday present to itself.

One caveat; at the Temple of VTEC, someone was putting a rumour about that the new supercar will be front-engined with SH-AWD. He was trolled off.

That story has now appeared in Auto Motor und Sport (AMS), with the car looking like a Honda M6/GT Continental.

I've long regarded the NSX as irreplaceable (simply making it 10% bigger & heavier totally misses the point), so a classic it is!

Well V10NSX has been sold by DVLA recently :)

Might buy V12NSX just in case.
