Air Con CCU Board Service 01

Rate this Entry

Another owner sent in the CCU board to have it serviced.

As I already started working on another NSX, decided to finish this board first before I was getting too busy.

The owner told me that quite often, there is nothing shown on his A/C CCU display and when it finally operated, the fan speed was at max blast.

It is possible that there is a combination of CCU board failure as well as other issues but first thing first, let’s fix the CCU board and then tackle other issues (if any).

This CCU board was from the late 90’s NSX so the material of the circuit board was the later spec but all of the capacitors were still the same as the original ones.

When I looked at the board, it was quite obvious that the capacitor leakage was left too long.

Some of the circuit tracks and pads were completely dissolved and no longer there….

The worst hit area was around C11 and C44.

Most of the capacitors were already leaking so had to spend long time for cleaning the board.
