  1. Rear View Mirror Plastic Cover

    by , 07-08-2012 at 10:11 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

The owner told me that he was annoyed by the rattling noise
coming from the small plastic cover at the rear view mirror.

So, started applying tiny amount of felt wool behind the cover.

This is just the beginning of the modification and
the final state is quite different.

    As I can only

  2. Cabin Temperature Sensor, etc

Just when I thought I can move on to the next service item,
I noticed that the cabin temperature sensor (aspirator fan) was
    making annoying noise.

Although it was not included in the service menu,
I didn’t want to leave it like this when the owner was not happy with
all sorts of noise after the security system

  3. Driver Door Speaker Noise

    by , 07-08-2012 at 10:09 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

The owner mentioned that after the installation of the aftermarket security system,
he lost the audio sound at the driver side speaker and
only heard white noise or cracking sound.

The AMP on this side was already replaced twice in the past.

So, started the service with the Health Check.

It’s not leaking but there was a tiny marking on the ABS high pressure hose.
It looks as if it's leaking but it's because I wiped the area with my glove.

It was just on the outer sleeve and internal hose was fine but
probably best to replace it next

  5. MX-5 Engine Refresh

My Eunos Roadster (JDM, Mk-1, 1993 1.8L V Special II) just started to
make noise from the water pump bearing and
it covered just below 60K miles so time for the Engine Refresh.

All of the coolant hoses, header tank, hose band, etc were replaced
in the past and the coolant was replaced regularly.
And yet the water pump started to make noise even under 60K miles so
as always, best to replace the WP at every TB service on
