It’s the rubber protector located at the boot lid hinge.

Without this, the forward section of your boot lid alignment would be lower than the side wing.

On the later model, the design of the ‘hook’ was changed so that the rubber protector won’t be easily dislocated but on the earlier models, ...

What a dirty air filter…. Due to the camera’s flash, the photo doesn’t show you the true state of the filter but I couldn’t see through anything with this dirty one.

Replaced with the new OEM one.

Kept the TH at WOT and disabled the INJ by disconnecting the connector to the INJ resistor unit.

Later models have different INJ spec so there is no INJ resistor unit and just a simple connector with metal bar inside to create short circuit.

  4. TH Butterfly Cleaning, TH Cable adjust

    by , 28-06-2011 at 11:37 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

Before warming up the engine for the compression check, decided to clean the TH butterfly as it requires the engine to be cold.

As in the previous post, the TH body was full of black gunk and also the idle rpm was not stable.

Sprayed the TH cleaner several times and then fired up the engine to warm it up.

What a hot and humid day to be inside the closed room…

Until putting back the valve covers, couldn’t open any of the doors so it was like working inside the steamy sauna.

At the end, decided to stop before carrying out the compression check as I’m bit too old dealing with the hot engine inside the sauna.
