Initially, we didn’t include the A/C Climate Control Unit (CCU) in the service menu.

It was a good call to change the plan.

Although the owner didn’t report any issues with his A/C, the CCU capacitors were already leaking and started to bite into the board…

Looks like I'll be spending sometime with this board....

Moving on to the Main Relay Service.

Surprised that the owner didn’t feel any starting issues.

The existing relay was from early 1991 and already showing the sign of soldering crack.

  3. Too tight... Drive shaft 01

    by , 14-02-2011 at 11:01 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

Started to work on another NSX.

Before bringing the NSX to my place, the owner tried to take out the drive shaft by himself but he couldn’t remove the spindle nut.

It seemed that at least one of them was never removed in the past.

Based on my advice, the owner took his NSX to HGV garage and asked them to remove the spindle nut using their heavy duty tool.

Apparently, they ended up applying more ...

  4. Lots of LEDs...

    by , 12-02-2011 at 10:17 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

After testing the super bright LED parking/side light for 2 years and 8 months, one of them failed so decided to replace it.

I thought about getting different model but considering the design/size, wattage, super brightness and the harsh vibration from Type-S suspension setup, I think it survived quite well so went with the same one.

  5. KSP Engineering 6MT Reverse Lockout Solenoid Controller

    by , 12-02-2011 at 12:55 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

One of the owner decided to go ahead with 6MT conversion and asked me for the easy solution on disabling the reverse gear while driving.

So, I offered him the link to the product from KSP Engineering in Japan and after his confirmation, I ordered it for him.
