    Again, with extra tubes and pipes, needs to be careful not to scratch the hidden part of the engine bay when removing the air box.




    Looks like never cleaned in the past.

    What a dirty TH body…..
    Not sure when it was cleaned last time…..








    The PCV valve was still operating but completely covered in black gunk.
    When it is clean, it should be white - light brown.

    Carried out the compression check to understand the current condition of the
    engine before my TB/WP/Valve Clearance service.

  4. TH Butterfly Cleaning, TH Cable adjust

    Before warming up the engine for the compression check, decided to clean the TH butterfly as it requires the engine to be cold.


    As in the previous post, the TH body was full of black gunk and also the idle rpm was not stable.


    Sprayed the TH cleaner several times and then fired up the engine to warm it up.

  5. Throttle Butterfly Cleaning

    Before warming up the engine in preparation for the compression check after TB service, started to clean the TH butterfly while the engine was cold.


    This NSX is DBW so there is no EACV, dashpot, etc.


    From time to time, on DBW model, you may need to adjust the idle rpm based on the specific procedure after cleaning the TH butterfly.
