Lots of LEDs...

After testing the super bright LED parking/side light for 2 years and 8 months, one of them failed so decided to replace it.

I thought about getting different model but considering the design/size, wattage, super brightness and the harsh vibration from Type-S suspension setup, I think it survived quite well so went with the same one.

At the same time, I wanted to test the LEDs for the cabin so ordered some of them from Japan for my NSX and MX-5.

LED parking/side light with HID at the dipped beam and High beam still with standard H1 halogen.

I liked this setup for many years.

For the LED inside the cabin, well, probably not everyone’s cup of tea.

I replaced the 2 x door courtesy light, 2 x ceiling light, 1 x driver foot well light.

Left other bulbs at the glove box, boot, key cylinder, dash, etc as OEM ones for the time being.

Having said this, not sure about keeping the key cylinder light as OEM as it stands out quite yellowish but then, you only see it for a short period.

My NSX is JDM Coupe so it has clear lens at the door courtesy light.

Also, number of bulbs may be different from your NSX depending on the spec of yours.

Unlike some of the cheap models out on the market, this one has complete metal body acting as heatsink so should survive for long time.

After the installation, I felt that it's pobably too white for the classic cars but seemed to be OK-ish for NSX.

I didn’t like them on my 93 Mk1 MX-5 but the standard bulbs were just too dark and being as roadstar model, there is no ceiling light so having bright LED light helped a lot in the dark.

Good thing is, I can always go back to the standard bulb at any time.

Let's see how long they will survive against the vibration.

Kaz

    Update after 1 year....

One of the LED bulb at the ceiling just failed but the rest of them are fine.
Not bad for about GBP3 product. Will keep monitoring.
