My car in Switzerland last week. Managed to tack on a quick run over the Klausenpass to a trip to Zurich - absolutely spectacular!
Nice weather last week here in Switzerland. I live in the very near but avoid the Klausenpass due to its narrow streets. I hope you did other passes as well.
It really was lovely weather!
We went over the Grimsel and Furka passes a couple of days later. I would happily have done more, but time was limited and my better half is rather more into walking over mountains than driving over them. Not a bad compromise; there are more passes left to do another time and the view is even better after you've hiked up the mountain for a couple of hours.
I don't recall thinking the Klausenpass was that narrow at the time! I suppose the traffic was surprisingly light when we were there - there were some stretches where getting stuck behind a bus or meeting one coming the other way could have led to a significant delay . . .
Grimsel and Furka are lovely, old school Goldfinger-like. My favorite ones are the Nufenenpass and the Sustenpass. Both are well known by car enthusiasts also from GB (we've once met a group of Ariel Atoms). I use to drive them fast (within the speed limits of course plus a 'payable' safety margin ) that's why I think that maybe 20 % of the Furkapass and the Klausenpass are a little bit problematic on weekends.
