new parts and etc will be posted here as I have time - here's something fun to start off with:

Sneak peek:

http://daliracing.com/v666-5/images/boostzilla/boostzilla-pixelated.jpg

If you want to see it in person you might drop by this event (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/info/events/track_11_15_01/index.cfm)or this event (http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70265).

Below are the first dynos from the BOOSTZILLA (http://boostzilla.com/) test car we will be running at Pahrump (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/info/events/track_11_15_01/index.cfm) on 10/28, the top line cuts out at 7K due to the fact that we "ran out of gas" and lifted while using the stock injectors. Clearly this pulley was a few PSI too happy & looking for a larger gas pipe - Stage 2 here we come!

The bragging rights graph: (396RWHP @ 7000rpm)

http://daliracing.com/v666-5/images/boostzilla/dyno2006-10-12--Before-After-HP.gif

and the good stuff that gets you out of the corners: (302.9 lb-ft @ 6300rpm)

http://daliracing.com/v666-5/images/boostzilla/dyno2006-10-12--Before-After-Torque.gif

test conditions:

The motor in the car was a freshly rebuilt 1998 3.2L installed in a 1991 chassis. Stock pistons, stock compression.
Mods:
1995+ style DC Sport headers
cat pipes
ARC Ti exhaust
Dali Port & Polish Stage 1
(stock 1993 ECU)
pump gas from the Arco station down the street (91)
The testing was done in 3rd gear (5spd with JDM ratios & 4.235)
A/F = 11-11.5
Exhaust port temp right at 1400F

The shipping Stage 1 kit will have a larger (ie less boost) pulley than the one tested above so we can run it all the way out to 8K and still keep the stock injectors to hold the cost at an entry level #.
The Stage 2 kit will have this pulley and larger injectors and ethanol injection.
The Stage 3 kit has the water intercooler + the big injectors.
The Stage 4 kit has the MoTec + all of the other goodies. All will use the same blower and bracket assembly allowing for a seamless upgrade path.

FAQ:
Q: What's in the kit?
A: come to one of the the track events and check it out.

Q: COMON - gimme something!!
A: full specs after the 2 track events in case we need to change anything.

Q: When can I have one?
A: in November.

Q: How much?
A: under $6k + install for the Stage 1 kit. The Stage 2-3-4 kits have not been priced.

Q: Where can I get one?
A: Exclusively at our shop in San Diego.

Q: WTF? You mean you won't just ship me one in a box?
A: uhh - no. All kits will only be installed by us on cars that pass our inspection for basic "roadworthyness". (leakdown & compression & dyno test)

Q: Where does the line form?
A: There are 3 cars ahead of you, but you can click here (daliracing@juno.com) to discuss it.

Q: is this the same kit that you had a few years ago that did not come out?
A: No, everything is different except the name and the decal.

Q: I live locally but I can't make it to either track event - where can I see it?
A: We will have a BOOSTZILLA coming out party in San Diego in Nov after the 2nd track event.

Q: When will the kit be CARB approved?
A: never.

Q: Why not?
A: Because I don't feel like dropping the $ to do that.

Q: Will the engine cover still fit?
A: It does on a coupe. I have not tried it on a t-top.

Q: Do you retain the OEM crank dampener?
A: DOH.

Q: I read somewhere that installation was included in the price - is that true?
A: no

Q: was that kit on the chart above intercooled?
A: no, that is the base kit with a slightly too small a pulley, hence the cut off at 7K as it was boosting a bit too much for the OEM injectors. Our water/air intercooler will drop the intake temps about 100F so we expect some nice bump ups from that.

and my favorite:

Q: Will you take my BBSC as a trade in?
A: TOO FUNNY - you get a free BZILLA t-shirt.

Q: Do you take payments or offer financing?
A: As much as I'd like to pretend that that my bank account balance rivals that of "The Donald" - it doesn't. This is the most aggressively priced kit on the market except for this one (http://www.turbonator.com/). You will need to pay for it to get one. I'm not interested in offers for "free" advertorial articles in exchange for a discounted kit in any magazines either. The kit will sink or swim based on its inherent merits.

Q: I don't live in So Cal but I have to have one - what can I do? (besides move)
A: It is most likely snowing or about to snow where you live and I'm sure that you need a vacation anyway. Installs take 2 days with the dyno etc. Drop by and take a few days at Coronado Cays (http://www.coronadocays.com/rentals.htm) while we dial your car in for you - or you can try shipping the car (http://autoshippingquotes.com/new/index.php). Don't surprise us though - we might be off at the track.

Q: Does the kit work on OBD2 yet?
A: We have not got there yet. Stage 1-3 will be dialed on our test car first (1991) for the 1991-1996 models. We will look at the OBD2 & drive by wire cars after that. Of course if you have a 1997+ and are building a race car, we can do that right now.

Q: I want to come and see the car at one of the track events but they are both full - what can I do?
A:The only real limits at the track events are on the number of cars on the track. The number of people that come to hang out is pretty open. The 10/28 Spring Mountain (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/info/events/track_11_15_01/index.cfm)event has a $5 head fee that the track charges to get in.

Q: What kind of warrantee does this kit offer?
A: The SC unit comes with a one year warrantee. The install comes with the usual "if we messed up the install, we will un mess it up for you" warrantee. The belt is a wear item and may break at some point. However, since we know that the first thing that you will do after you are out of sight of the shop is hammer the gas to the floor and leave your foot there until you run out of said gas, there is no warrantee on your motor or anything else that might happen to you or your car as a result of the SC install.

This is a "race part for off road use only" and has the same warrantee as the Comptech parts for racing (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/main/catalog/disclaimer/ComptechRaceParts.cfm)do.

If you get 5 speeding tickets on the way home or stuff the car into a tree, that is your fault, not mine.
If you fiddle with the kit and blow up the motor, that is your fault, not mine.
If you smoke your clutch in a week showing off and drag racing all of your friends, that is your fault, not mine. That said; every effort that we can reasonably make has been in dialing reliability and performance into the kit, after all, I have it on my car, and the last rebuild & motor replacement that I had to do (http://botchedboost.com/info/pistonitis/) because someone released a product a year before it was ready, cost me >$15K to remedy. I'm not interested in doing that again, nor hearing about you having to do it either.

Mark,

why torture us with this when we are clearly not going to fly over with our NSXs in hand luggage to get this fitted?... are you planning a UK SC tour?

Also you seem to have ruined the beautifully flat torque curve that your stock engine had... is it worth it:confused: :) ;)

why not? the sun is out here >300 days a year.

My tech says he likes UK beer, so why not? Do you have smog tests? If you do then it might be a challenge to pass them. I asked him if he would mind "training" a shop over there and he asked if I minded him draining a few pints whiile he was at it. You know where that goes. ;) it is just a question of the cost to do so vs the number of kits to be installed.

With the Stage 1 kit we will be running > 300lb-ft of torque - stock is 180.

With the Stage 3 I can lite up the rear tires in any gear except 5th, is that worth it?

"Drivability" is always relative to the use, and what is hot at the track is not always useable on the road.

There will be some opinions posted after the track events where we are showing the car I'm sure.

MJ why torture us, I already delved into my ISA enough LOL.

PS I would be interested in this sometime next year if it could be done with catalytic converters in place.

Cheers,

Ary

nothing we do with the SC kit affects, replaces or interferes with the cats. That said, anything that restricts the airflow will also restrict the power potential. We are making headers just for this kit that should boost the output by 10% or so over "regular" production headers like the DC or Comptech. If they do we will also have Random make matching cats for them. Dyno tests on that will come after Xmas.

I might :D

seriously - I don't use my NSX very much, so shipping the car there and back could be do-able. could also fly over to meet it on arrival and check out the install process too.

if there were enough takers and a suitable workshop available to justify Mark & team coming over for an install party that would be a worthwhile alternative for sure, and much more viable for owners of daily driver NSXs.

I think one way or another this ought to be on my shopping list for 2007

looking forward to more info on the custom headers/cats & next dyno at full rev range

So it's official? Mark Johnson of Dali Racing has passed away (or been abducted by aliens). God rest his soul..........
